    MC Sunday

I'm sure I've started one of these threads before but not very often.

I started off the morning with a shower and as I was washing my face, I noticed a huge (to me) bug crawling between the clear shower curtain and the decorative one. I honestly stood in the shower wanting to cry out for help but since DH is working, I knew that wouldn't help. I imagined the monster waiting for me when I got out but instead saw it was still on the shower curtain. I got out the other side from the end he was on and dried off fast. I then grabbed some flying insect spray and sprayed along the edge of the curtain and it dropped out on the ground. OMG, I so wanted to run out of the house screaming and naked but then I saw that it was dying from the bug spray. I got my Dyson out and sucked him up. I want to throw the Dyson out now but I guess that would be stupid, right? I looked up the bug and it's a house centipede and "beneficial" - ha!! I don't think so. Anyway, that was the start to my day. I hope everyone else has a better beginning.

It is gorgeous here, so yay for that. Big Smile

Ew! I probably would have ran through the house screaming. Kuddos to you for keeping your cool! haha

It's NICE here too. The dog I'm watching (Bentley, former foster) has fleas. I'm kinda pissed. Who sends a dog to someone elses house with fleas?! Ew, again. Guess I'll get a tube of advantage, and charge her for it. I think we'll go to the park. The boys need to RUN!

Doing some clean up of the house today.

Scheduling interview for a new house cleaner.  I hate these services/privates who I hire they just do not do the job I want.  So.  put a ad in craigs list and hoping to get more for the buck than before.  I've had over 10 resoponses since yesterday,.lots of people looking to make extra cash.

My MIL is staying the night tonight, she wants to watch the Ocar's but is a Cablevision customer and lost her access last night at midnight.Sad  It will be a nice visit I enjoy my MIL company and it makes DH happy when she stays the night.

Must clean hampster cage today, stinky.........

LOL Cathy! I've got horrible eyesight, and contacts really bother my eyes. So obviously I don't wear my glasses in the shower. If I see a bug in the shower it usually looks even bigger and fuzzier without my glasses on. Sometimes I'm lucky and it's just a sock fuzzy. Big Smile

    And yes, I'm still here.

LOL, yeah I didn't have my contacts in either. That was probably a good thing though. I swear I thought it was a small mouse. I went grocery shopping and the cashier said she'd had the same type bug in her son's bedroom and she grabbed him, slammed the door shut and stuffed towels underneath until someone brave come to help find it. Good to know I'm not the only big wimp.

Jan - you've still got several hours to go before the c-section. I'm guessing it's kind of doubtful that anything will happen between now and then, so I'm sending you my very best wishes for a smooth surgery tomorrow. I can't wait to see pictures of baby Sonja. Are you excited or just beyond ready for it to happen?

I got lucky the other morning, I was getting in the shower and I noticed a black spot, since I wasn't in yet, I grabbed a kleenex and picked it up with that, squishing in the process.  Turns out it was just a sock fuzzy!   I was paranoid from the week before, I was in the shower and washing my hair, noticed a large blackish looking thing on the top corner of the shower.  My eyesight is terrible too, but I keep my glasses on the edge of the tub, because I'm paranoid about bugs, so I put my glasses back on, and it was a huge spider - I screamed for FH to come kill it for me, he came running upstairs, then proceeded to make fun of my before he killed it.

I just spent FIVE hours at the ER this morning.  We were there from 9-2!  FH twisted his knee yesterday skiing hitting a big jump and by the time he got home it was quite bad, so we went to bed, then took him first thing this morning.  I have no idea why they made us wait 3 hours just to see the doctor, FH made it quite clear he was in a ton of pain, apparently the people that could still walk and appeared to function, got in before us.  The doctor finally saw us for about two minutes, determined he needed an xray just to rule out a break in his tibia.  It was apparently too easy to just schedule him for an MRI, give him pain pills and send him home.  We had to wait another two hours for the xray to be over and done with.  Then she was content on just sending him home for a week "to see how it was"  FH got angry at that point, having wasted five hours there and insisted on being booked for an MRI.  Doctor reluctantly gave him the form and number to call for an MRI and if it's still bad in a week, we will have to see an Orthopedic surgeon probably who will push for a quicker MRI.

So, we are sitting here waiting, hoping his knee either magically improves in a week, or at least it's just a partial ACL tear and not a full one.  UGH.  He's skiied for like 30 years and hadn't injured his knee, I guess it was about time for a knee injury.

    Better late than never.....

Beautiful here today, and yet I've spent most of the day finishing the RV.  Between DS using it as a man cave, the mice wintering in it, and dogs being "banished" there when I've got someone coming, well, it was pretty bad.

    • Gold Top Dog

Ugh Stacey - sorry about the long time spent at the ER and FH's injured knee. I hope that time and rest will be enough and he won't have to have surgery. The people I know who've had ACL repairs have done very well though. Still, no surgery needed would be the best news.

I spent a little time outside cleaning the patio and pampering Buffy. It's such a gorgeous day that I'd almost be tempted to go buy some flowers to plant, but I've made that mistake before.

Beautiful here too - played 9 holes of golf instead of a run this morning

DH is in a foul mood - so that means there's a big cloud overhead despite the sunshine and 60*+, I wish he wouldn't let things get to him like this, ah well.

Bugsy has been limping since Wednesday night on and off so he has been 'rested' this weekend and he has no difficulty letting me know he isn't too pleased about that.  Worst of it is he appears to have pain in his good knee.  I know they told us he was super likely to need to repair this one too but no way no how we can do it now.  So a few good vibes would be helpful.

Stacey I hate the ER, I mean no one likes it but it is always seems a long wait with no definitive diagnosis.  Fingers crossed FH's knee is OK

    I suppose that is all

I'm sending good vibes for Bugsy and his other knee. I know the thought of going thru another surgery so soon much be daunting. I'm sending good vibes for your DH's mood too. I know how that can be and it's no fun.

    • Gold Top Dog

Oh no!  Good thoughts for Bugsy and his knees!

I'm a wuss when it comes to bugs.  DH doesn't like them either, but he always loses the battle and must deal with them.  We get stink bugs on occassion, but that's usually the worst other than spiders.  Our old rental places used to have some definite creepy crawlies.

Beautiful day here!  about 45 and oh so sunny!  I shoveled the last of the ice and snow off the back deck since it was starting to melt, and I was sweating in only a hoodie.  Oh I love this weather.  Of course, once it all melts, I'll see just how much Sammy has pooped since the snow storm and that won't be as fun.

Hope everyone has a good Monday, or as good as they get

I'd make fun of anyone who needed me to come kill the bugs.  I've had a palmetto bug (which looks remarkably like a cockroach) come out from behind a towel and fly at me while I was in the shower, so, yeah, I get the gross-out factor when you're naked.

Today is beautiful here, too - I took Gracie down to the big park and we played hide-n-go-seek around the big trees.  I let her run off, then I hide behind a tree and she guesses which side to find me on.  She's awfully cute.  Totally snoozy tired right now - asleep on the chair.

Meanwhile, when we walked in the door, Patrick was sitting at the door like he fell over and couldn't get up.  When he did, he was holding up his OTHER back leg - the one he didn't have surgery on.... *sigh*.  There must be something in the spring weather that's affecting these guys.  Hope Bugsy is ok.

Baby Sonja.... we'd like to meet you.  I think tonight should be the night.  Get a move on, little lady.  If it doesn't happen, I hope all goes smoothly and you're not gassy tomorrow, Jan. (wink)

You and me both. Big Smile DS #1 and his GF were here for awhile and we were sitting in the patio.  It felt just like late spring/early summer.  It's gorgeous.  I did get DS to dump out the plant pots along the fence and drag the dead stuff out to the street and that will make replanting them easier.  I really wanted to uncover all the furniture and put the cushions back out, but I know if I do we'll get another rain/wind storm.

Jan, best of luck tomorrow. We'll all be thinking of you and sending good vibes your way.

holy cr*p - just insane.  I scoured B's feet and did see a teeny sore between his middle toes on the left (non-surgical) leg but as much as I would LOVE that to be the problem, once you've seen a sore knee you kind of know what it looks like.

Thanks all for the well wishes and Paige I hope Patrick is OK too.  I seriously know that neither B nor I can emotionally go through this again at this point.

Ack - palmetto bugs eeeeeeeeeeeeweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Ick!  We get them sometimes and I am so thankful for B's ability and desire to find them and swat them for me.  They have a terrible habit of scurrying in the dark first thing in the morning so all I see is his tail going madly and hear him swatting the floor LOL.  He always gets them though, phew.  Hmm makes we wonder if it is coming up on palmetto season again?  There is some point that they tend to wander in................

Jan my best vibes over the next 48 hrs!

Was a pretty day here too, but I felt bad most of the day. Have rain moving in and it brought a sinus headache/migraine with it. Took some migraine pills twice today, even took a nap to try and sleep it off, no go, but with the second set of pills I drank a huge glass of water, and felt better within an hour. Guess I have not been drinking enough.

Gave the boy his bath, at least he smells better, though the smell of his shampoo did not help the headache.

Sonja.....let's go darling, we are all eagerly waiting to meet you.

Patrick and Bugsy....you both take care of those knee's...no zoomies if you please.

Stacey, sorry about the ER battle and hope the FH's knee gets better soon, oh, and no zoomies for him either.

I made a scrumptious shrimp scampi for dinner. I have been slowly rotating out bad for you food, to good for you food. Informed the hubby that fish/seafood is on the menu twice a week now, and I do not mean fried. I did have to send him to the liqueur store for some Chablis though, told him to ASK someone for help, since his wine skills are lacking. Since he ate 2 bowls to my one......I think it was a success.
