Here is Lily with her snake. She loooooves him lol. This was the first time she'd handled him since he arrived. After some initial nonsense he settled down and behaved very well. Lily was firm in her handling and had none of the jumpiness she had with Zig at first...more sure of herself and her ability to control the snake's movements and lend it support to keep it calm.Very impressive for a new/young snake owner! Here are the pics!Always use two hands...and support your buddy!Always keep a hand between your buddy, and the ground (escape route!)Shadow was prepared to defend himself from Elias who came over to check him out LOL. Smart snake!Note the S curve/striking position...he did not strike...and settled down after Eli was calmer and sitting still...Lily and her beloved...lol. She was making kissy noises at him...who knew one could cuddle a snake?

What a pretty snake! Lily's braver than I was at her age- heck, I wouldn't hold a snake until Kole was about 4, and I still won't hold small ones.

I think it's awesome that at such a young age she is so confident with reptiles! She has much better nerves than I do!

I think it must be genetic. I was catching fence lizards (bluebellies) and garden snakes by about her age too. Fascinated with them...frogs and insects too. My husband is afraid of anything without fur and even some furries (rats and such) freak him out *sigh* oh well...I suppose we can't all be brave like us girls in the family, are LOL!
