Gina......skinny little people don't GET the sleeve thing.  We more robust types prefer to have some distraction from the jiggly of the upper arms.......

LOL but flutter sleeves are sleeves...just not so binding....don't those look like they'd bind on you and make a sweat catcher? They do cover the tops of the arm but not the pits...so you get some ventilation LOL!

I also go for resonable, lol!  Bought a few things last summer from this site

    NN!

We used to get their catalogs...I did see a lot in there I liked...but at the time (I was in my late 20's early 30's) it didn't feel generationally appropo. I recall their having a bunch of wild shoes...which I also liked looking at Smile

Hmmm.....I am not fond of the pattern, way to busy for me.

Check out this page: (I love the blue sleeveless and the floral orangey print dress)

I went and looked again and yep...times are changing LOL.  I have been addicted to White House Black Market of late...and Gap...LOL.

I've liked the CWC stuff too..esp their jewelry. They seem to have a lot of simple tasteful patterns and nice fabrics. They opened a store here by my house so maybe they have one around you too Deb?

I think they call that the "Bohemian" look, lol, my kinda style!

since it's summer some sandals...flat or wedge would look great and be relatively comfy?

Single shoulder/sleeve dresses & tops seem to be the thing this season, too.  Not good for heavy arms.  I personally prefer a pattern to camoflage some of those little bumps, so I understand wanting a print.  (Sometimes a solid color looks like a tent in bigger sizes.)  The deep V helps elongate, but I'd be cautious if you have bigger boobs.

My sister is much bigger than the sizes mentioned here and she loves to shop at Nordstrom.  I just went there and saw you can shop by body type, price, and style.  Doesn't make the prices any cheaper, but so be it.  Her stuff arrives pretty fast and returns seem pretty painless.

I have bought shoes at Nordstrom and have been very happy with them.  They are a bit too rich for my blood but I watch for the sales.  One nice thing about their shoes is they do carry my size (4 1/2) not just everyone has smaller sizes unless you get kids shoes, lol.  It's always fun to shop in the little girls section of the shoe store....the kids are just amazed when the "old" lady is trying on kid shoes. Stick out tongue  Nordstrom;s return policy is very easy to work with.

Paige, good point about the solid color looking tent-like.

Deb, I was thinking, with the sleeve issue, could you perhaps use a lightweight shawl or sweater to cover your shoulders?

I'm short and overweight, so I'm very familiar with this look.  But I'm also particular about patterns, as us short people need to be.

    - and it would help break-up/tone-down a busier pattern if needed.

NO Gina.  Those little funky sleeves look AWESOME on someone with no jiggles....but the UNDERside of the arm where their ain't no sleeve, is where "some" of us jiggle!  The far side of 50 can tend to be a pretty jiggly place.

My SISTER now, at 62, is built like you.....thin as a rail, and she's got very well defined muscles, but she runs and she rows and does all sorts of tortourous things to her body.

Deb, once you put the dress ON, we might just all LOVE it on you......
