Well, we got the results back from the growths.  The good news is that the one on her back was benign.  The bad news is that the one between her toes was not.  It is a level 2 malignant tumor.  I'm not sure what kind as DH talked to the vet and I haven't talked to her yet.  She said that she cut deep and cut more than she had to to make sure that we got as much as we could.  I'm not really sure where we go from here.  The vet said that we can watch the area and if any kind of growth reappears we have it removed.  She did say we could be more aggressive if we wanted to but we would have to go to Purdue likely as they don't have the ability to do anything advanced cancer wise there.......

Oh no, Christina, I'm so sorry to hear about the malignant tumor. It sounds like they were very conscientious and thorough - sending lots of good wishes for continued improvement!

Sending you good vibes that they got it all.

Christina, I'm sorry that the news wasn't great, but don't stress about it until you talk with the vet.

Fingers crossed that the pathologist says that it was completely excised.

DH remembered what kind it was--a mast cell tumor, Grade II.  We'll talk to the vet tomorrow and get more info.....I just can't believe this.  She's the HEALTHY ONE.  Cancer--of all things.  She's not that old--she'll only be 6 this spring.  I didn't even know pitties were prone to cancer......

    • Gold Top Dog

I think everything is prone to cancer, these days. Sorry I missed this for so long. Saw your post on FB and boggled....

Lots of "all gone" and heal fast vibes, to Miss Sally.

She is still very unhappy about the cone situation.  The stitches don't come out until later in the week.  She sometimes just sits there and holds he foot up to the cone and licks the cone where she can see her foot through it.  I REALLY hope we don't have to put her through another foot surgery....
