Well, we picked up Boomer at the vets yesterday, there is still 3 or 4 inches left so it doesn't
look so...shocking. It is shaved and there's stiches but when they come out in a couple of
weeks and the fur grows back , it won't be bad. I was trying to pick him up to put him in
the backseat of our Honda CRV and he jumped right in. He wants to play and that's the hard
part, keeping the two dogs apart. But otherwise he seems fine. He's on antibiotics and pain pills
but outside of that, I think that leg was so dead that he couldn't use it anyway so I'm not sure he
notices the difference.
The thing we have to work on is housebreaking. I think he's spent so much of his young life in
the hospital or the vets or incapacitated that he just goes when he wants. He does seem to be some-
what crate trained so that's good. I just have to get him outside and OFF the front deck before he goes.
I try to put Mocha out with him so he can see her do her business. But he's discovered toys, we have two
small crates of toys and he is really having fun.
I'll be signing him up for obedience training sometime in the late summer or ealy fall.
