Finally! I meet her later today.

Oh yes, Princess is Beau's best friend. But she also made friends with my mother in law's dog, Roscoe. I swear those two absolutely LOVE each other. She spends a lot of time over there with Roscoe. Doesn't seem to bother Beau that she's gone, as long as I'm with him.

It's funny you, barngirl, ;posted a dog that I was considering adopting. Kenny took a look at her, and said she looked pretty smart, but didn't have the look the he wanted. My birthday is on Monday, and I'm going to ask that he go to a couple local shelters with me. Just to torture him.

I'm thinking, if one of Kenny's good friend's dog (male) gets cancer, or dies from something related to not being neutered. He will reconsider neutering Beau. He definitely takes it personal. The same with his brother, and I swear they're working together on this....

Dumb me, I meant to post two different dogs, and somehow ended up doing the same one  twice. Anyhow, this is the other one that I found. From what you said about your lifestyle she sounds perfect

At least your BF is being a responsible dog owner, it's the people who have a hang up about neutering and then dont worry about their male being around females that cause problems. You just need to get your BF to meet some of the dogs your interested in, especially if they are in a shelter setting, who could refuse rescuing a shelter dog?[:D]

barngirl, be warned- searching Petfinder for other people can be very, very dangerous.  You run the risk of finding a dog for yourself you just can't live without-even when you weren't even considering adding another.  Just happened to me, LOL!

hahaha, I know!!!! It's just so much fun, cruising petfinder seeing what's out there[sm=clapping%20hands%20smiley.gif]

Ooook.  You've been warned.  I expect to see the "look at the dog I just have to apply for" thread from you any day now!  I cruised petfinder for almost a whole year before it got me- it'll get you too!

This is what I would do if my so was against neutering our dog for only the reason of he thought it wrong to do because he wouldn't do it to himself. I would think I know the benefits of doing it and I know that its the right thing for the dog and if he wont listen to ALL the different people saying what the benefits are than so be it. I would do what I thought best. Look at it this way you are the dogs "mom" as you are your childrens. What if dh was against getting your kids their immunizations? There are people that do think you shouldn't. Would you just go along with him and not do it and risk the childs health? I certainly would not. So why risk the dogs. So what he gets mad, he will get over it. Atleast you know that you did what was best. Just my opinion on what I would do. Not downing you at all. G'luck with the stubborn dh[:D]

That makes me angry!!  What kind of double standard is THAT that he says the female has to be spayed immediately, but he doesn't EVER plan on neutering the male dog??  And she wasn't even in heat so there was no risk of her getting pregnant, right?  That's really VERY unfair.  Grrrrrr!  Hlb118, you are a much more tolerant person than I am.  LOL  That would not fly in my house.

I just had to get that out.  I know that you're already sad about the situation and I'm not making it better.  I'm sorry.

And I totally agree with Garrett on this one.

Jeano... I asked my hubby... He said it's a worthless pursuit and that guys who are truely against neutereing for whatever reasons minds will not be changed...

That said he said he thought it was dumb because it's not like your snapping off his balls! <-- His words! [sm=rofl.gif] And witnessed by the fact that we have three male dogs none of which are in possesion of a set of berries! <-- again... his words!

Well, all I can say is, I tried! Thanks to all the men who chimed in. I was hoping there might be a way to persuade the recalcitrant DH, but oh well.
