 As for stain color, I always like tan dogs in a dark brown/reddish leather, but then I'm a dull sort

I kind of like the natural leather which will darken with use but if you want to stain it I also think the dark reddish brown would be good

Very nice.  I think a dark brown stain would look good on Bailey but with his coat color anything would look great.  You are very talented!

I like the natural color too, but I have to stain it. My art teacher gave me most of the leather, but its not all from the same hide, so it doesnt match exactly in color. The breast plate has a bunch fo scratches on it, Im hoping adding color to it will make them stand out less.

This is the collar I made him a while ago. Its a dark mahogany color. Maybe I should dye the harness the same color? I also have a brown, and a tan, which I think would look nice....

Well, I am, sort of. Not like an actual buisness or anything, just to anyone who wants a hand made personalized collar (and maybe harnesses soon) for their dog. I dont think Im allowed to talk about selling stuff here, so if anyone is interested or has any questions feel free to PM me, I dont bite (usually) 

 If Luke didn't have a long coat that hides his collars, I'd be sending you a pm about a collar. I'm still debating it though. I think Bailey would look nice in anything, but a reddish like everyone else suggested would be nice too.

Wow, just wow!  I like the natural color myself.  I don't know about leather but I do know that with wood if you stain it & it has scratches, the wood takes the stain differently.  Just my .02.

Yea, leather stain is kind of different. Stain goes into the cracks or cuts on the leather, and actually makes them stand out more lol. Dye doesnt, but I dont have a dye color that I like... oh well

This is a scrap piece of leather that I dyed all the different colors.
Opinions needed, I cant decide

Left to right:

Dark brown dye, mahogany stain, saddle tan stain, light brown stain   (plus the color of Baileys collar, dark mahogany dye, which I didnt put on here)

They are all nice but I like the saddle tan.
