Do you guys really not buy your milk in bags?

I never even heard of milk coming in a bag!

We buy our milk local from Hornstra Farms, and it comes in glass bottles :) I don't drink milk but my DH does and I do use FF milk in my cereal.

You know what's really funny is that when I was a kid, there was a gas station/c-store we'd stop at if we were out of milk and they sold the milk bags.  My mom, being the bargain shopper she was, bought a couple, but because we didn't really have the right pitcher to put them in (and because we were kids), more milk ended up on the counter and floor.  My mom was from Canada originally, but I don't remember her talking about milk in bags.

I'm really surprised it took so many posts before someone made a comment about udders.  Hmm

I've heard of it before, from a song. It says,"you've gotta go there to buy milk in a bag," or something of that nature, referring to Canada.

Oh, that remined me. My first job was at a drive-thru dairy and we sold these cartons (gallon?) of milk. The milk was in a bag inside the carton and then there was a spigot at the end. I guess it's the same idea but you actually get a container to hold it in. Not sure whatever happened with those but I'm guessing that they were too big for some fridges or not convenient if you wanted to pour milk directly from the container into something.

When I was a young, milk only came in bottles.  When they started packaging it in cartons we thought it was horrible tasting.  At school we could buy small bottles of chocolate or regular milk for......

2 cents!  Yep, and it was a treat for me to be able to buy those because my mom thought it was outrageous.

The best milk I've ever had was straight from a dairy farm that used to be down the road from where I live now.  The milk was sold on the honor system.  You took your container in and filled it from a big tank in this building and left your money in a jar.  I'd let it sit in the refrigerator for a day and skim the cream off the top.   Oh, that was so gooooood.

We got the bag option here in Nova Scotia as well.  Not sure of the logistics behind this one but I've baught them before.  I don't think I ever saw chocolate milk in a bag though.

Yup! hehehehe you beat me too it Paige!

Milk kind of creeps me out in general, but I love the chocolate stuff! I do try to drink the white milk, but I will only drink 1% or 2% and I have to have ice cubes in it so it is super cold, otherwise I won't drink it.

Never heard of milk in bags!!  I'm dating myself with this one but I was raised on a farm with cows, my grandpa use to milk the cow into a metal bucket and we put the whole bucket in our frig - you had to move or skim the cream and pour from the bucket. Indifferent

Milk in bags seem like it would be a pain in neck!

You guys have never heard that slang term for a woman's, ummm, chestal attributes? Stick out tongue

I went to BC in highschool, and they had milk in bags. Five Iron Frenzy has a song about Canada and how "you have to go there to buy milk in a bag!". LOL

But, no, I've never seen it anywhere else. And I don't drink milk, anyways, LOL. I buy almond milk for cereal and cooking.

Okay, totally weird to see milk in bags but Stacer, I just gotta say that chick in the youtube is adorable.

She mentioned the packaging is recycle friendly.  FWIW, our milk jugs are recycleable also.

I know TOO many former Frat Boys to NOT know that, LOL. I giggled. LOL...

Milk is nasty...but I do take it in cereal and in coffee if there is NOTHING else to put in it. I am sure my bones look like swiss cheese but I do try to get my dairy in other forms. Ice Cream mainly.
