I've finally put my shelf together after 3 months lol and I finally got to put my precious moments on the shelf after having them in their box for a year lol.

I gotta go buy cat food again for some reason the cats go through food more than my dogs.  Well also DH likes to keep filling up their bowls and with two strays outside no wonder lol.

I'm still stuck with the siamese cat I guess she's mine.  Just what I need huh.  I feel bad that I can't take the two strays into the house.  The Siamese cat is very friendly and wants to play with other cats but both my cats and the other stray don't wanna play lol.

    Gonna finish cleaning..... blah

The carrier supervisor came out today.  He said the driving BETWEEN driveways will stop immediately.  We'll see.  He also said that this carrier will be advised that he is to stay off the shoulder and stop making the ruts deeper.  15 inches is NOT a small divet.

Wowzer, I have been incredibly busy today and not much liking it. Based on the small number of posts, I'm guessing others are busy too.

Oh yea!! I've got my boarding passes taken care of both ways.  Southwest has this thing now called *early bird check-in* so I could get the return flight boarding pass taken care of.  For $10 they'll get my boarding pass 36 hrs. in advance and I'll just have to pick it up at the Albuquerque airport Saturday.  Well worth $10 IMO. Now I just have to ask my neighbor if she'll come over on Thursday around 1:00 p.m. and lock the doggy door (yard guys come that day with the evil killer leaf blower) and DS #2 hopefully will remember to open it when he comes home. And, the rain finally stopped!  It's gray and dreary - typical for January but we should be dry at least for the next few days.

I think I'm going to skip out on tonight's sar class. Sorry Rupey. It's 14 degrees out; I don't feel like bundling up because none of my warm clothes fit me right now. Plus my hips & lower back have been aching more and more lately. I know after hiking around in the snow that my pelvis is going to kill. However... I think I'll still bring Willa over to gramma's so I can get some cleaning done. Shhh!

I'm betting neither gramma or Willa will mind spending the evening together. I think it's wonderful that you're close enough to do that.Big Smile

So, I've managed to dig out of all the work I had but I doubt the calm will last very long. I still have a lot of things I could get done, but I'm tired now. I think I'll make a cup of tea and see if that perks me up.

Joyce - I'm glad you've got your reservations all worked out and I'm with you in regards to $10 being worth it to be pre-boarded. If you were flying on any other airlines, you'd be paying the price of a ticket just to check your bags.

Agreed.  Bird are such special creatures.  Just this week I keep hearing a particular bird call and it immediately makes me feel like spring time. I was thinking what a sweet thing it is to hear a beautiful bird this morning because of that.  I'm sorry your pet has unexpected flown to the Bridge.

Annie, how are you doing?  How are Grady and Aspen these days?  Hugs to you, too.

Where ya goin'?!  Hope you have a great time!

Why did I look at house listings today??  I found the perfect house for us, that we seriously can't afford, lol.  It's in the area we want to eventually move to, has a finished basement (BF's requirement), a ga-ga-ga-gorgeous kitchen, and it's on 2.5 acres!  Oh, and it backs up to the Chattahoochee.  The river...in Harry's backyard...OMG he'd be in HEAVEN!  Think it'll still be available in about 5 years when we might be able to afford it, lol???

My grandmother loved to garden.  I remember as a child, & even as I got older, I used to go to her house to help her work in her gardens.  She would take time to tell me about different plants, & flowers, & she always took the time to discuss how to best care for them.

I took off early this afternoon because the weather was great.  The dogs & I went out in the yard to assess the plants & see what had survived the really hard freeze that we had last month.  I noticed that the roses are really leggy, & starting to get new growth.  I need to prune them, & I can't, for the life of me, remember when to prune them.  I remember that I am supposed to prune them in October & again in February.  I just can't remember if it was "prune them lightly in October & heavily in February" or vice versa.  At any rate, I ended up sitting on the ground in front of the rose bed, crying like a fool because I didn't pay attention & now, I'm lucky if grandma remembers me at all, let alone hoping that she remembers when to trim roses.

The past 8 days have been terrible, & today just finished it off.  I've decided that it can only go up from here.

I'm on the phone with Dell. My laptop has several keys busted on the keyboard. Luckily, I have the full warranty, because they are going to replace my keyboard. Unfortunately, this means I really can't use it until I get the new keyboard.

Also, the stairs tripped me, and it hurts.

Definitely seems quite around here today!  I'm procrastinating from finishing homework due tomorrow.... ugh.

Amanda, hope that helps the "dog in your yard" situation!

Someone at work did something incredibly stupid, careless, and *dangerous* at work today, and when I told them the proper thing to do, and then to fix what they did, I was told "I'll do it later" to which I said "no way -- it's *dangerous* to leave it", then was told "I can't do it now since I'm doing something else that can't wait"  I saw red there for a few minutes, someone else cleaned up the dangerous spill, and I spoke to the boss.  (I'm the lab manager, so technically that should count for someone listening to me, yes?)

I was then told the person is, at the end of the day, "still a kid" (he's older than me and others in the lab!) and "can't take care of himself" so working in such an environment as ours must not be working.  He's been here 3 1/2 years, and been going downhill the past year or so.  Hasn't been paid in a few months since they took him off the payroll until he shows he wants to stay.  We've overlooked a number of incidences lately, but this could have effected the health of an entire group of people.

    Sigh.

    /end rant

     Dear Amanda,

    You win!

Also, glad I'm not your neighbor (not that I have intact dogs, or dogs that roam, but you know.... LOL).

Awww - Amanda I'm sending cyber hugs your way. I truly understand. I don't know about the rose bush pruning either though, so it's something we both need to figure out. I hope you're having a better evening.
