A bad day

Oh man, thats got to hurt. I hope you feel better soon Sad

I had braces a few years ago, and one night while I was rough housing with Bailey, he pawed me in the face and his NAIL got stuck on the wire of the braces. He pulled his foot back, his nail came off when he pulled and was fine, it wasnt bleeding or anything, but he pulled on the wire so hard it popped one of the things off my teeth and tightened the whole length of the wire so tight I had to cut it off.

Another time, we were at the park and Bailey was playing with his friend ( a great dane) They were chasing eachother and they were running straight at me and I didnt get out of the way in time, the dane kept on running, and made a U turn, smashing me in the knee with her butt. That one hurt for a few days.

Oh my! Sunshine did the same thing to me right before christmas!! I hear you. IT HURTS! At least you have some good pain killers. I just got laughed at by friends at a party later that night.

Man oh man...the things we endure for the love of our dogs.  I knew there had to be other horror stories to share.  Thanks, it makes me feel just slightly better this morning to know that at one point or another....someone has had to "shake it off" after a "love bump."

I am even more colorful this morning and swollen.  Time for more icing.

Callie, I'll look into that Traumeel....I didn't mention it earlier, but I've been putting Arnica Gel on it frequently.  I wonder how those two products compare.

ok...ready for a a mug shot.  This is not for the faint of heart.  Send the children out of the room.  Get ready.  Turn away if you must.

Oh my, OUCH! Dogs do have hard heads, I would share a head collision story, but my guys are all small, so not much force behind their noggins.

    Feel better!

    Oh Barb, owwwwww!!!!

That's more than quite the shiner!!!  I hope you are feeling better!!

lol if anyone you don't know says anything to you about it, say "yeah, well you should've seen the other guy!" lol

    • Gold Top Dog

Ouch ouch ouch!!! Hope you feel better soon :(

I don't have any dog headbutting stories (Rascal's just not that big), but I have gotten *reamed* by flying horse heads quite a few times. Adjusting the bridle or something and BAM, horse gets startled, flings his head around, and big big bony nose smack across my face.

    Hurts like a sonuva....!

I hope you heal up quickly! Make sure everyone knows you're not a victim of domestic violence... well, at least not of the human variety! Stick out tongue

Good one, Barb. Crying  I didn't share any of my dog injury stories because I have so many and they usually feature me as the clown and the dogs laughing like hyenas.

BTW, our hair color is so close it's amazing. :)   I do have quite a bit more gray hair than you. lol

Ouch!  A horses head is bad news when it comes to face collisions.  I know that hurt.

I've been thrown from a horse before, and got my "bell rung."  Not fun.  I got in trouble from my DH that day too....because I wasn't supposed to be riding while no one was home.  I was a novice rider.

Oh Cita, you just don't know.  My dear sweet DH and I have been happily married for a very long time.  And I have been a clutz for a very long time.  On top of that, I simply bruise easily.  I can't tell you how many times throughout our life that people have wondered.  And, he is such a gentle soul.  It pains him to think that people wonder that.  Even with this incident...he worries what people think.  Sad

Ouch Barb!  I was hoping you would be feeling better today, That is quite the shiner.  I have had a few headbutts from Shadow and Rocky but even tho they hurt I never got butted that hard.  No wonder you went to the ER.  Hope you feel better soon.   BTW did you get kisses and sowey from the hooligans?

    • Gold Top Dog

Ha...I sure didn't want anybuddy's head close to mine after that.  BUT, the interesting thing was...Heid knew I was hurt...well it was obvious...with my crying like a baby and all.  But, she ended up sitting down and looking at me with this very long and sad face.  She was definately trying to relay "I'z sowey u hurt ma."  Sweet girl O'mine.

Wow, that looks like it HURTS.

The things we put up with to have dogs... its worth it though. Im sure they didnt mean it.

I hope it gets better soon

years ago when we had only had our Rottie, Justice, for a few months, he was running around the yard with DH. Well he came back toward dh at full speed and dh bent down and stomped his feet , thinking he would swerve. Well justice didnt. Hubby was 6' 2" tall and about 200 lbs and my 90lb rottie took him off of his feet. He was on the ground for a good 20 minutes, with justice sitting next to him licking him.

Color of the season....Loreal Preference #7-1/2 A.  Time to do it again....Seems like I need a spa day.  Hair cut, hair color, eye brow waxing...a massage would be nice too.  But, it might hurt.  LOL

OH MY.....while I was reading I was expecting something horrible but the eye doesn't look too bad.  In a week or two you'll have a good laugh over this.  Poor Heidi...I bet she didn't know what to think after it happened!
