    Mindless chatter sun

Ok. It is time to stop procrastinating. I need to take the tree down, do laundry, and clean. I also should go to work to catch up on things, clean up the back yard since the snow is melting and get the car washed.

I will get these things done today!

I cleaned yesterday so im good for the week. Finished the main body of my lap quilt, so I need to decide which material to get to finish it, but that will be next week.

Going to go play with NEW material.

LOL!!  And I thought I was a slacker for not undecorating my Rosemary yet!  It just looks too pretty with the gold ribbons cascading down the sides.......

I am dreading going into the kitchen this morning.  I have to bag and freeze yesterdays insanity and that danged kitchen seems to take hostages and turn me into a cooking slave.  The ONLY thing I'm planning to cook today is some bacon and the yummy pecan/corn flake crusted french toast........if I don't come back, you'll know the kitchen hijacked me again!

Have to make another Staples run at some point today....the cartridges I got, while WITH the ones I needed, are the wrong number and don't fit.  BLAST!  DH has been printing using the COLOR cartridge.  So, unfortunately, that means another quick road trip for me.

Dreary here today.....supposed to be a mix of sun and clouds, but all I've seen is clouds so far.  At least the temps are more normal...almost 60 again today, so I'm not having to layer and still freeze!  LOL.  I'm a total wuss when it comes to temp extremes.

I went to the grocery store and manged to resist buying the things I know we shouldn't eat.  I'm going to do some cooking and finish the laundry.  Hopefully we can take the dogs to the park today for some running.  The weather is decent with some sun peaking through today.  Oh, I just remembered that the Cowboys are in the playoffs and I'm sure DH has his day planned around that game.

    Karen, how is Bugsy today?

Ugh, I need new ink for my printer too.  There goes another $100.  I could buy a new printer for that, but I really like the one I have.  My dad is gonna pay for these ones though, since he can write it off and I use most of the ink on work stuff anyway.

I really wish my cleaning could get done in 2 hours a week.  Maybe 2 hours a day...if I got really efficient, perhaps one hour a day, but that's pushing it.  Right now I'm behind.

Why is Kim in California?  Anyone know?  I heard she had sick dogs, I hope its not related...My geography is off though.  Why would she be in Cali with sick dogs...?  Did Susan get the pup after all?  I am so far behind...I need someone to fb inbox me a summary, in point form, of what goes on here....takers?

Don't look at me I am way behind too

It is a whopping 70* here - quite a shock to the system after the sub-freezing temps we had for about 3 weeks

Jackie thanks for asking about Bugsy - let's just say I am sad to say it is a definite setback.  I am going to try and get him in to the rehab vet tomorrow or Tuesday to see what they think is best

More cleaning to do and more football to watch!

Poor Bugs!  Good vibes for your vet appt!

I just found out that our big move is going to actually make it possible to take regular herding lessons.  Maggie shows some talent for it and loves it so even though she's almost 11 I think we'll be dabbling in that with her and we'll also get a chance to see if Kes would like to do it too. Big Smile

And the move is going to put me closer to agility trials such that one of my agility buddies from IN may come down to do team with me and another of her friends that lives around there! Coolness!

I should be doing housework today, but I'm not. Stick out tongue Oh well!

Karen - I'm really sorry to hear that the incident yesterday caused a setback for Bugsy. I hope that it turns out to be a minor setback that just requires some more rest and not something more serious.

I'm curious why Kim is in California too. Hopefully she'll pop in and let us know.

I started cleaning as soon as DH left for work at 6:30 and just finished up. I really had to push myself to get going but once I did, I just kept moving and can now enjoy the next 2 days off.

I woke up around 1 AM and heard a dog barking in the neighborhood and then shortly after I could smell skunk. I'd have sworn it had sprayed outside our house but I'm pretty sure it was that dog that got sprayed and he's several houses away. Ugh, I feel sorry for the poor dog and the humans who had to deal with that in the middle of the night.

It's rainy and dreary here and looks like it'll be this way thru the week. Good nap taking weather though.

I'm making pecan french toast right now...Thanks Glenda.  I don't have cornflakes, and I didn't bother looking up a recipe.  I just dipped most of a fresh loaf of bread in eggs with milk and vanilla, put them on a foil lined cookie sheet, and sprinkled them with crushed pecans and brown sugar and threw them in the oven...No idea how they are gonna turn out, but they smell wonderful!

    Doing housework is over rated.

Candace, you've got it pretty close!  The egg wash is egg and vanilla and then dip into the corn flake/pecan mixture to coat and then cook like you would normal french toast.  This recipe came from a little dump in No MI....with the BEST food!  The place didn't look like much, but, the food was sublime!

Oh my gosh, that sounds wonderful. Let me know how it turns out. I'm starving now. I think I have what I need to make boring french toast but even that sounds pretty good. I'm off to check what else I can add to it.....

I hear you about the ridiculous cost of printer cartridges. Last time, I tried some of those recycled/refilled ones for half the price and I'm happy so far. You might want to give it a try. This is the place I used: www.enviroinks.com

And Glenda, as much as I want you to come cook for me, I don't think you would like the weather in Texas any more than Florida. All that cold we had last weekend? It was 11 degrees Fri/Sat, 12 Sat/Sun, and 17 Sun/Mon for more hours each night than it needed to be. And this week, though warmer, has felt as cold with the rain/dreary conditions. I've been freezing my toes off! Just hoping your industriousness will motivate me!

Hope everyone has a good day! I'm going to be mesmerized by the puppies some more today. LOL

I made cinnamon rolls yesterday so have to behave with bread today. I had ham and eggs for breakfast, but that french toast sounds awesome.

Karen, I am sorry to hear that Bugs is not at his best today. Will keep him in my thoughts and hopes for a good vet appointment.

The French Toast sounds too good!

I saw Avatar last night......very impressive.  The whole 3D aspect kinda threw me off guard.  First time I actually got to see a 3D movie!  I'd have to recommend this movie to anybody.  Really liked it...prob the best movie I saw in a long time!  We went in a half hour early to get good seats and the darn place was already packed!  :(((  We had to sit nearer to the front.  I bet the middle to back seats would have been much better!

I got some fish chowder brewing for supper...just can't seem to find my bag of scallops?!?!?

Oh...and sending some comforting vibes for Bugsy.  Hope he gets better soon.

Well, the french toast turned out pretty good.  I could have cooked it a little less, but nobody has complained thus far.  I cut the girls up into bitesize pieces and put a bit of syrup on them, though they were sweet enough.  Kale's I left whole and I think he's eating it with his hands, like toast.  That's how I ate mine....yummo
