She had to go be somebody else's dog for awhile, Callie.  She knew you and David were all set here.   Angel

Hey -- if I get to be part of a forever Mostlie Sheltie/Peke love story, I think that rocks!!  Who knew he spent almost 19 years here waiting to meet that little peke girl at the very end.  And she had to spend 3 years getting happy!

We're all about helping a dog be all it can be -- she & Fox are a LOT happy.  Man, I'm so "good" with that it's amazing.  Bittersweet tears .. but wow ...

Callie - I'm very late seeing this thread (as I am with all the most important threads, it seems!).  I'm so sorry to hear of Miss Kee's passing, and although they're belated, I'm sending a huge supply of good thoughts and heart-healing vibes to you and David, and some gentle condolence rubs for your other sweet pups (especially Tink, who will likely have a harder time understanding and adjusting).

As everyone else has said, Kee couldn't have been more fortunate than to find a place in your family.  The care and love she received during her years with you surely washed away any bad stuff she'd been through before landing in your hands.  And to be under the watchful eye of such devoted "parents" when her time here was drawing to a close was a blessing all dogs should have . . . your dedication to her painless and dignified departure was what she deserved.

Her imprint on earth will obviously be part of your and David's lives forever, but that imprint will also remain on the lives of the many children she affected during her therapy career.  I'm sure there are many, many others (animals & humans) in addition to Foxy who are racing to her side now, and they will all be joyful together.

Again, my belated sympathies to everyone in your household -- I will ask Tonka to watch for her, too -- as a fellow therapy dog, they will have lots of stories to share.  Hugs to you and take care.

Sorry to be late to this thread, Callie, but relieved to know Ms. Kee's transition was a gentle and peaceful one.  Wishing you and David and the rest of the pack comfort and love.

Enjoy romping in lush meadows Kee Shu and being reunited with one mostly Sheltie admirer.

Thanks -- she continues to be remembered ... and ... we were grocery-shopping tonight and didn't need paper towels ... didn't need nitrile gloves (for 3 baths/rinses daily?), and no pee-stain stuff, and no laundry detergent.

Just memories -- David moved the baby gate tonight and it fell over with a CRASH and he said "Kee Shu???" as tho we had an invisible visitor.  Personally, I think he just knocked it over -- Sucky Pony wasn't trapped anywhere and no pug needed a toy rescued!!

I think Kee was back checking on you guys to make sure everything was OK.
