For the past decade, his life has revolved around her care and he took such good care of her, she was only moved to a nursing home when grandma had to have his own surgery and was in recovery for weeks (and his condition was brought on by neglecting himself and overburdening himself physically caring for her).  Now he will have to learn to take care of himself.

Reading that reminded me of the movie The Notebook. If you haven't seen it, don't watch it for awhile but do watch it someday. It's so touching.

Congrats Auntie Kim! It's nice to read something upbeat right now. Sorry your sister had such a hard time with delivery but glad to hear that she and the baby are doing well.

I forgot how dark it is when I get off work. Where did the day go? I certainly didn't get as much work done as I'd have liked...but there's alway tomorrow, right? :)

Gosh, I became a GREAT aunt again yesterday at 5:10.  My niece in law had an emergency C section!  Scarey how alike that was!

My sympathy to everyone dealing with loss and pain right now.  ((((hugs))))

Went in to record my show and my tongue kept tying itself up in knots, OR, falling out of my mouth and getting in the way of my foot, OR completely disregarding anything my brain told it to do.  Man, that was frustrating as heck!

I feel most terrible for my grandpa and the look of loss in his eyes.

So heartbreaking.  I think of the years they've spent together, that dance that a long-lasting marriage becomes.. what happens when your partner is gone?  So, so sad for your grandpa especially, and we send loving thoughts to you, your grandpa, and all of your family.  I hope you're all surrounded in love and support at this time.  God be gentle with them all and hold them safely through the waves of sadness.

    Congrats Kim!

We got word this afternoon that DH's aunt was killed in a car accident yesterday.  I have no clue if we are going to be able to get to Boston for the funeral because of the weather both there, & here.  Our airports don't deal with ice very efficiently.  DH seems to be considering driving up.  He says that we can drive it in 35 hours or so, which I think is absolutely nuts.  He hasn't driven in ice & snow in 6 years, & I'm from Texas.  We don't do ice & snow.

I'm so sorry Amanda.  I hope you can get a flight.  My sympathy to your DH and his family.

You are far nicer than me!  I would have posted that I'd contacted them numerous times & had yet to get a response.  Then I probably would have questioned if they were in the habit of asking for fosters & not contacting them.  I am a bitch though....

Believe me... I really wanted to say something. I think, I'll just hold my toung until they contact me again. It makes me sad to know they could care less...but! what a difference with this aussie group! She had pictures and a dog waiting for me! (however, he's heatworm+, and I'm not comfortable with that). So she's got another one. I've gotten all sorts of welcome emails - such a nice feeling Smile
