Callie sounds like a true case of tough love for you two. And you are sticking with her til the end and not giving up. You won her over, Miss Kee knows when she has it good.

Happy Gotcha day Miss Kee! As you can read, :) we all love and respect your Mommie and Daddy. You have taught your Mommie some things that she will be able to pass on to many of us, as she has in the past. You keep on goin sweetie.... your Mommie and Daddy are going to make your journey over the bridge a very calm peaceful and happy one. Since we have time. please take my love and smooches to Shadow when you see him.

You rely on yourself and go WHERE you want WHEN you want cos it's the only way it's gonna happen. Don't let NUFFIN stop you -- just keep pushing. Keep putting one foot ahead of another. If you fall get up again. If you find a wall PUSH it. If you find a tight place SQUEEZE -- maybe you'll fit.
Don't stop. Keep going. Keep eating. Keep trying. Keep fighting. Keep LIVING. It's what you do.

Tears fell as I read this. I could have substituted Mr. Phipps, Mako, Dancer, and now Fergie into your post and it would have fit them just as well as the darling Miss Kee. There's nothing like an old dog to educate you about life.

Whether young or old when they leave, the depth of pain is the same, but somehow an old dog brings a certain grace and dignity to the ability to "keep living".
