I think I'm getting sick.  Can someone please tell my nose and head, that this is not a good time to get sick?

I KNOW I'm getting sick. Last night in the middle of the night, I asked BF to bring me some medicine. He brought me 2 aleve. Huh?

Paige, I can't believe someone brought gravy in a sun tea jar.  Ick!

plus another "bucket" of it!!  To go with the ham she brought!  This lady is a little nuts, actually.  Like in an almost sad kind of way.  Anybody with any sense got samplings of food from reliable sources (me, and three or four others) before bringing down the food for general consumption.  We ID'd the food from questionable sources (this lady above is *highly* questionable on food handling here, so why should she be any different in her home?) and avoided it at all costs.  We do have one eastern European woman who makes the most fantastic pastries and baked goodies.  Looks like something you buy in the store from a round tin, if ya know what I mean.  Only they're home made, fresh, and really special.  YAY for Jana!

Cathy - My mac and cheese came from the Martha Stewart recipe.  My coworker/friend, who owns Mora, was very happy for the comfort food.  She's so stressed about her little girl, aside from being overtired with puppy midnight pee breaks the night before, plus the emergency room drama late last night.  Thank you again for keeping her in your thoughts... she is a good girl who really is attached to her momma already (after less than a week), and her momma desperately wants to spend time with her.

Tina - Can you save me a big bowl of the mac and cheese? It's my favorite comfort food.

Cathy, I would except I think Paige made the mac & cheese.  Huh?

Yeah, not sure why I thought it was you Tina. Very strange but no so much if you could see inside my brain these days. Embarrassed

Ick about the gravy in the sun tea jar. Who does that?

Thank you! That sounds like an amazing dish. Did you use the gruyere cheese? That stuff is crazy good but not cheap. I used it last year for a breakfast casserole dish and it really has a ton of flavor. Oh my gosh, I am so hungry. I had a Lean Cuisine flatbread thingy and it wasn't very good and it wasn't very filling. I wish I had some potato chips or something around here.

Indeed I did - and my sister said she usually uses pecorino in addition to the gruyere and cheddar.  When I was 19, I lived with one of the guys from Boyz II Men, and his mom would make this amazing mac and cheese - I never cut up so much cheese in my life helping her prep the stuff!  This was the first time the dish has even come close to comparing to hers.  I never liked mac and cheese as a kid, because I thought it meant Kraft blue box, Ick!, but "discovering" homemade stuff with her was GRREAT!  Last night was the first time I've made it since that time with Ms. Omar... *sigh*, makes me miss her a lot right now.  She was like a second mom to me.  Geez I'm emotional today, I feel like tearing up again!

Haven't been around in a few days for MC....it's been so crazy busy this week that I've just been exhausted. I work tomorrow until four, then it's off until Monday!! Whoot!!

My Christmas activities start early tomorrow so I probably won't see any of you until Sunday/Monday.....if not, I just wanted to say Happy Holidays to all of you, for whatever celebrations you may experience at this time of year. *hugs to all*

You lived with one of the guys from Boyz II Men? Wow girl, you've had a very colorful life.

I've been more emotional than usual lately too. I think it's the holidays and all that goes with them, both good and bad.

Amanda.... "some" puppy might like some SAR training, eh?  Just some random puppy, eh?  Stick out tongue

Yep.  Just some random puppy. Wink  And for the record, *if* it were for Cher, it would be great info to pass along to her owner.  She's a BUSY girl, & I think that she'd enjoy working.

FWIW, I have determined that this will be my last female dobe foster.  Males were so easy because I know that they couldn't stay.  Females are just different.

Cher had her eyelids tacked today.  She looks sooo much better now.  She handled anesthesia so well, & she's already acting rotten again.

I know, bizarre little twist of fate.  Short lived, but fun at the time.

Meg and Julie and everyone else who is feeling sick, I hope you all get better soon.  Holiday Sickness is the pits.  Meg, did I miss it - how was BF's graduation?  Did you find something to wear?

I have been suffering a cold. Today, however, I felt just good enough to die, which was an improvement. Now, it looks as if we might have snow tomorrow.

    Funny story!

I rushed out of the house that morning to get over to UCF to look for graduation-themed decorations. None of the party stores had them over here. I ended up finding a really cute black top at Old Navy (since the party store didn't have what I wanted...had to occupy myself somehow). I realized the only shoes I brought with me that morning were my old, grody, Kino flip-flops. Uh, whoops. I found a REALLY cute pair of black low heels at TX Maxx, but it was either get cute shoes and miss graduation, or go to graduation in old flip flops. I wore my oldies and no one even noticed, LOL. I really want those shoes now though, they were cute.

Skipping reading through everything. I ended up going to the Old Navy on my way to work in NJ. I also ended up driving backwards up a 95 on ramp today. I got the pants I wanted, and they were only $20 in the store as opposed to $34.50 online. I would have picked up at least one more pair in navy or black if they had them in my size, but I ended up with the khaki type color.

Candace, I thought for sure you would get it before x-mas. I think I shipped it the day after I shipped your SS gift, and they told me 6-10 days.  I guess more like 6-16 days. Maybe tomorrow if they are doing mail up there tomorrow.

so I'll wait until the shopping frenzy ends and then go in.

Speaking of shopping frenzy ... did you see the news earlier?  Seems Arden Mall and another one opened at midnight last night to sell the new Michael Jordan Shoes, expecting about 400 or 500 people to show up.  2,500 crazies mobbed the door.  I can't believe that 2,500+ people are nutso enough to pay $175.00 for a pair of shoes because Michael Jordan endorsed them.  So here it is coming up on 8 p.m. and I'm only just now getting to the computer ... but ... my dessert for tomorrow is made and up on top of the microwave where Max (hopefully) can't reach it, the lasagna is in the fridge ready to bake and there's a cheesecake from Costco in the fridge in case there isn't enough cake left for Friday.  All I have to do is toss a salad and put some garlic bread in the oven. Friday will be Shrimp Scampi (courtesy of the Costco freezer) and that should take all of about 10 minutes to heat up.
