Exchange overheard in the office next to mine just now.  Sarah - 30-something smartass funny girl.  Sal - 40-something silly and sweet forklift driver....

Sal, upon entering the office area: "What's that smell?!"

    Sarah: "Your mom!"

Sal: "Well, she smells good for being dead."

    ------Silence-------

Sarah: "Um, really?  Are you saying that to be funny, or make me feel bad because your mom is really dead?"

    Sal:  "Both, she's really dead."

LOL! Makes me wish I didn't work alone.

Paige - was it your coffee that he was smelling?

Nope, sulky coworker's lunch... and he's still sulking today, btw.  I have been told there's stuff going on beyond our exchange that has him stressed, but he has yet to speak to me, and it's 3pm.  Very "girl"-like.

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

I love it!  I make lame "your mom" jokes all the time.  hehe.  I have actually gotten our friends to start making them as well, back to me, but I totally kick a!$.

    That's hilarious, Paige!

I'd love to post some of the funny conversations that go on in my office, but they are certainly not family-friendly, lol.  That's what I get for sharing an office with two hockey guys (our office is just me, BF, and a very good friend of ours).  I told them that whenever we're ready to hire on more office staff, we need to screen them carefully to make sure they have a good sense of humor and a high tolerance for foul language and off-color insults, lol.

Courtney, that's awesome about your interview!  Good luck!  I know you'll impress them.

Annie, what does "FUBAR" mean? I haven't seen that one before.

Barbara, I'm glad that you're having such a great time with the grandbabies!

Paige, you're the only person that I know who would "put their coffee in timeout." LOL!

Big CONGRATS to Courtney! Fingers crossed for more interviews to come.

Janice, I hope that you feel better quickly.

I have had a really busy, but all around great day!

    • I got the staples out of my boob, which was enough to make a lousy day good. But, it only got better after that!
    • One of my friends came through with a job for my homeless friend. I located him, & he started work today. The report that I got was that everything went well.  I'm hoping that the job will help turn this guy's life around.
    • I told my assistant that she got the last intern position.  She was so happy about being offered the position, & she deserves it so much.
    • I gave my secretary & assistant their Christmas bonuses.  It was great to get to see the surprised looks on their faces when they opened their cards.
    • Bevo & I had a great time at the library this evening.  We have a special needs child in our group.  Normally, he doesn't respond to either of us.  Today, he hugged Bev goodbye.  It was so sweet.
    • I came home to dinner, & apricot muffins.
    • Cher has finally learned stay!!!  She held her sit for a full five steps, which was HUGE for her.

I've been really down in the dumps for the past few days, so it was great to have a day where everything seemed to go right.

I believe it's a military term.  It's an acronym for "f'ed up beyond all recognition."

I have finished my Christmas shopping!!  Yippppppeeeeee!  Well, still want to pick up a little something more for the dogs......now all I have to do is start wrapping!

    • Gold Top Dog

Okay, technically things weren't FUBAR but it sure felt like it yesterday.  Thanks for the explination Heather.

Wow, Amanda, it sounds like you had a great day.  I'm so proud of Cher.  Stay is a tough one for an ADD pup.

Jano can you take a Sucrets or something??  I hope it feels better in the morning!  How much longer till due day????

Congrats Courtney and great day Amanda!

Well I just got back from a nice holiday gathering and guess what - I have no holiday spirit this year.  None. Making me sad tonight.  I use to love Christmas.

Bugsy was officially discharged from rehab today - he also managed to escape confinement and slide all over the kitchen floor and jump into my car which still had groceries and his ramp in there.  When DH was trying to lift him out he was scrambling to stay in (desperately wanting to go to rehab but he was an hour early) and his leg looked really twisted.   One week to x-rays that had best tell us the bone is healed because he isn't going to play this game much longer

That's all.  I hope I find some holiday spirit

Ok, I immediately welled up in tears.  Maybe that's an over reaction, but I'm glad he felt safe enough to want to hug Bevo.
