What a difference three weeks makes

We have had Cher for three weeks today.  She's came such a long way from the poor, sad, defeated little puppy to the confident monster that she is today.  She has gained 11 pounds, & grown 1.25 inches in the time that we've had her.  Her skin still isn't great, but we're working on it, & we finally seem to be getting it turned in the right direction.

Here's what she looked like when I first saw her.

    And now.

She's confident enough to venture away from me, which is a big improvement.

She's still happy to come back to me as well.

Now, she's always up for a game of fetch.  (When she came to us, we were happy if she could make it 10 steps before she got tired & sat down.)

    Thanks for looking!

Awwww!  Poor baby!!!!  What kind of situation did you get her from?  Thank god you saved her!  You are an angel.  <3

Wow, what a difference you are right....a big, big wonderful difference. What was it that she had with the skin and what did you do for her? She looks like one happy pup now!!!

She came from animal control.  She was going to be euthanized, so I took her.  She has demodex, & a staph infection.  From the skin scrapings, it appears that she's cleared the demodex, but the infection is hanging on.  I've been doing daily baths, along with tea tree oil rinses, as well as using antibiotics to clear the infection.

She's definitely one happy puppy now.  She's pushy, annoying, mouthy, overconfident, & too smart for her own good.  In other words....she's a typical dobe pup!

I'm so glad you were there to take her.  Yes  That's so great.  It warms my icy cold heart.  LOL!

Amanda -- lavender is *also* super good to use in the rinse.  Check it with your vet, but Dr. Demers and Dr. Baily both have recommended Selsun Blue for staph.  Don't make that one a long bath -- but then in the rinse if you can switch to lavender occasionally (or half lavender/half tea tree as the additive) -- it's a bit different emollient and lavender is superb as an antiseptic.

She looks awesome -- you've done such a good good job with her!!

She looks unbelievable!!  And, the best is I see happiness and life in her face which I didn't see in the first picture.  I mean, she had her head down, the poor girl. But, you've changed her life, Amanda!!

The 1st pic is just so terrible! And look at her now running with the tug!

She looks amazing!!   I have tears in my eyes (or maybe I'm just overly emotional today Stick out tongue ) because she looked so sad and helpless and she looks a thousand times better now...and HAPPY.  I am so glad you were able to save her.

Amanda, the only reason there is a difference is because she's with you.
