Joker needs some get better vibes!

    • Gold Top Dog

I sware I posted to this already. Anyway, I'm so so so sorry about Lillie!  Joker has all my healing vibes.  Come on, kiddo, you can do it!  We're ALL pulling for you & your mom.

Well Joker still hanging in there. He's still peeing! It's clear now not dark yellow. He's acting normal except the peeing and drinking like crazy.

But Cheyanne looks like she has gotten into it too. I cant find where they might have gotten into it. I've been watching them and letting them out one at a time. Like I said we dont even keep antifreeze on us. We always have to go to the store when we need some. I quit work so I could stay home with them.

I think I might just lose my mind here.

I was thinking and praying for Joker last night.  Going to add Cheyanne to the get well vibes now.

I think I might just lose my mind here.

We all probably would.  I'ld especially be concerned with where they might have gotten it at.  The last thing we need is for them (or any other animals) to get into it again.  Have you done any asking around?

Prayers, get well wishes and strong healing vibes coming your way for Joker and Cheyanne.  We're all pulling for you both.

Sending good thoughts to Cheyanne, too :(

Kimberly, I know it's a pain in the rear, but for now I would take them all outside on leash. Who knows, maybe they will even lead you to their "source"? I just wouldn't let them loose outside for now - even with watching them. It just seems too risky, until you figure things out.

Have you checked basements, pantries, garages? Maybe a former owner of your place left some stuff lying around that you haven't seen but the dogs found?

Gosh I'm so sorry ... I've been thinking about you. Just wanted to chime in, have you checked under the parked cars that don't run? There could be leakage. How did they know it was antifreeze? I too would take them on leash and let them lead you around. Could a horrid neighbor have tossed food soaked in antifreeze or a rag? What is your property like? Could they have dug something up? What a nightmare for you ... I'm going crazy just thinking about it, can't imagine going through it. Your dogs have my best vibes coming.

Oh no.  Cheyenne too?  She's got my thoughts and prayers as well Kim.

Have you checked air conditioners and heaters as well?  They can leak too.  And any old fridges?

I'm not sure if you posted, but how do you know that its Antifreeze poisoning?  Are the symptoms specifically associated with Antifreeze?  I don't know enough about it to know if these symptoms could only mean Antifreeze, or are they symptoms of poisoning in general, or what.  Anyway, I hope you figure it out soon.  Poor Pups.

Glad to hear Joker is holding his own.  I'd definately check parked cars.  They could have just a small leak that you might not even notice at first.  We are thinking of you and Cheyenne and Joker!!

Dear doG, Kim.  My heart goes out to you & I'm praying for ALL of you.  ((HUGS))  We're all here pulling for you.

I am so, so sorry about Lillie and sending good thoughts out for Joker and strong vibes that Cheyanne did not get into it as well. As others have suggested, it could be from a leak and it doesn't take very much at all. This happened to one of our dogs several years back and we really weren't sure that is was anti-freeze but for the symptoms and the fact that we'd noticed my girlfriend's car had a very small leak. I'd thought I'd kept my dog away from it, but that was all that we could figure. He started vomiting and just kept vomiting, with the dry heaves, until we got him to the vet and they put him on IV's. He was treated for a few days and came around just fine. Wishing you and your dogs well and again, I'm so sorry to hear about Lillie.

Antifreeze kills the kidneys hard and fast.  REgular poison usually causes internal bleeding (warfarin) or other stuff.

The only other thot I'd have would be Tylenol -- but I haven't researched antifreeze in a while.  But someone actually trying to poison them -- it's a scarey thot but it could happen.  Does anyone have access to them while you are asleep?

Have mercy, what a terrible situation.  I am so sorry you lost Lillie, she was such a pretty, sweet girl and I know your family will feel her loss for a very long time.

Hang in there Joker and Cheyanne, your momma is trying her very best to take care of you!

Kim, is it possible the nasty people who live down the street are intentionally poisoning your pups?

I don't like to push the alarmist button, but if you haven't, check the perimeter of your yard for anything that could hold liquid and maybe call local law enforcement to see if there have been similar problems in the area.  Sorry for your loss of that beautiful dog.
