Dog Reveals All In New Memoir

I just posted a tribute to our beautful Bernese Mtn. dog, Logan, who was rescued from a puppy mill. Sadly after a mere 14 months we lost him to 'C'.  I wanted to post some happy news too.  A while ago I posted a story "Of All The Gin Joints..." which was actually an excerpt out of a book Bo was working on.

Well, he did it...he just became the first dog to write a memoir and have it published in non-fiction. Not bad for a writer in a fur suit. The book, BAD TO THE BONE: Memoir Of A Rebel Doggie Blogger is about our crazy adventures over the last fourteen plus years through Bo's eyes. It's 100% funny, 100% true. Think 'I Love Lucy' meets 'Marley & Me' written through the dog.

The book is dedicated to all the rescue and shelter workers who make this world a better place, one animal at a time. They are our unsung heroes. A portion of the proceeds is being donated to help other dogs in need.

Let's get this clear right away: I'm a dog.

I'm 1'10" and weigh 63 lbs, and although I'm a mutt on the outside, I'm a purebred on the inside. My good nature comes from the Golden Retriever side of the family, while my stubbornness is clearly from my Chowchow bloodlines. I've got Rastafarian ears, a black tongue for licking, and paws that should be on a dog twice my size.

I type 60 words a minute.

My name is Bo, and this is my story.

From shelter dog reject to beloved pet and popular doggie blogger, Bo Hoefinger's life has been anything but ordinary.

Join this incorrigible canine as he welcomes us into his life, complete with his wacky "parents," a constipated feline housemate, and chipmunk warfare. Bad to the Bone is an unforgettable, laugh-out-loud tale of love and loyalty that reveals the true heart of a modern American family.
