Mindless Monday Chat

I guess I'll start the whine today. I miss one day and the whole place seems in chaos. It's nice to be needed but really fellas you could make a bit of effort to keep things on track.

We had nice weather yesterday after the fog burned off but it's back to the drizzly yuck today. DH is still feeling sick and stayed home this morning. I was kind of glad to come to work to escape the moaning.

I'm home today with a full on cold / sinus infection. Its been brewing for 2 weeks. I guess my immune system finally gave in. I feel like hell. And my poor nose is red and sore from blowing it. I'm even using lotion tissues!

Ok sorry about the pity party. Woe is me.

A squirrel just went splat on my bay window. When will they learn that they can't get to the window feeders? Too funny

Oh, I hate a sinus infection. Hope you feel better soon, Julie. BTW, my comment above was about my office being in chaos. When I re read it, I saw it could be taken as directed at the forum! lol

I was hiding Jackie . . . . I thought you WERE talking about the forum !!!!

FYI . . . If you really want a reason to ingest fast quantitites of vodka, just go to Target on a Sunday two weeks before Christmas. It really wasn't pretty.

Walmart is finally open 24 hours for Xmas. Its nice to shop at midnight when nobody is there. Even better at 4 am, when nobody is there and the shelves have been restocked from the night before.

I put the tree up yesterday. That's all the decorating I have gotten done, but for now its enough. Kelci is fascinated by the bulbs(and while I was typing this, she fed one to Crusher) and keeps taking them off the tree. This offends Kali so she keeps trying to move them all up higher on the tree so Kelci can't reach them, then Kale rearranges them so they look nice, which means lowering them again. Lather Rinse Repeat. Oh Christmas Tree...

LOL!!

I'm just going the gift card route for gifts this year. I drove by Wally World yesterday and it looked scary and that was just the parking lot. I do hit Target and have found if I get there at 8am I can beat out most of the scarier people. Of course, those of us shopping that early look pretty scary.

I don't want to be here today. I'm seriously considering going back home. I can work from there just as easily as I can work from here...

all the better! LOL I do the same an shop early I will say that here we have so many Target stores barring a few they are rarely the nightmare that the mall (I refuse to go during normal times) and Wally World are.

I can't shake his irritable feeling - it isn't helped by Bugsy's incessant whining when he *thinks* we are going somewhere. i have no idea how he figures it out but this morning he screamed and whined for about an hour prior to going to the vet's for his 3yr rabies shot. I swear if he weren't such a PIA DH wouldn't be so terrified to have another dog. He thinks they are all like this.

I still haven't finished my cards, sigh. Best do that today. Also need to distribute the dog biscuits I made and bake some cookies. Someone please find me the motivation...........

Feeling good today...finals are over, e-mails sent to st lucian wedding people, going to pick up future hubby's laptrop from the Geek Squadders this afternoon, getting my supplies for the neighbor's cookie trays while we're out....I'm doing good...

I am like an old person. I get to the stores early! Saturday I hit Wally, Target, and Meijer and was home by 10:00a. Started at 7:45. I get up at 5:00a, so I might as well get it over with. I detest crowds, esp. getting shoved out of the way when I am trying to look at something.

Mountains of work to do, so I'd better get back to climbing.

Oh, Candace, did you not get my email about making me a sig?? I like yours, btw.

We get our Christmas bonuses on Friday. We also get our end of year bonuses then. I'm waiting impatiently!

I bought DH & the kids a pool table, for Christmas, off Craigslist for $25. I had to have a bumper & felt replaced, & the shop cleaned it up very nicely. It only cost $210 to have everything fixed. Now, I just need to shop for pool cues, & a new set of balls for it. I vetoed the pool table idea a few months ago, so they are going to be thrilled when they see it.

Why is it that I couldn't sleep in on Sat. or Sun. but I overslept this morning? I think it must have something to do with not wanting to go to work Hmm

My boss called to say he'd be working from home, so that was a pleasant surprise. We have an annual conference starting Jan 10th and I have much to do to prepare for it but I'm just not in the mood.
