    It isn't a contest.

Never hurts to ask for people to do more, some times the answer is yes they can and will.

Of course, you're the only person doing everything possible.  If that's not what you're trying to sound like, that's how you sound.  You might want to check the way you're wording things, it's coming off as arrogant.

Again, just don't follow your post at all. If you are saying uniform guidelines should be established for the industry and enforced within the industry and by law, then I agree. The only acceptable deviation from the established guideliness would be upping the two breeding factors in your post, quality and facility.

And that is what I am referring to.  Quality-not just quality of the producing animal (sire and dam) but the quality of life for said animal.  These animals are being kept in a strict "puppy making" capacity.  The dogs get no exercise, sub-standard foods, are bred every cycle possible and rarely given good and consistent veterinary care.

Whoops, missed this post.  OK, I follow you now and that portion of your post in quote is accepted as happening.

Here is a site that is little more easier to read but it doesn't have the flare.  It does say, albeit rare, that responsible commercial breeders' puppies do make it to pet shops and it provides a list of questions to ask before purchasing.

But still the discussion is how can the industry change and to me that means all breeder types are involved.  You can not rely on government to legislate the guidelines...it has to be done as one group.

No, you do not have permission to call me Davey?  For you and only you. you have permission to call me Mr. DPU.

I have a suggestion for you.  You live in Illinois and in a city where University of Illinois has a campus.  Contact their Annimal Community and get on their email network.  Then you can do the easy task of cutting and pasting as you described.  If that campus does not have an Animal Community then contact the main campus in Champaign/Urbana.  I have got the University of Illinois at Chicago covered so no need to inquire there.

Sorry Dave.  I thought I recalled from a post the other day that you liked being called Davey.  I thought you said it reminded you of your favorite Village People song or something.  Without question though, my memory is quite faulty.

As to your suggestion of getting involved with the U of I, the fact is, I have no interest in getting involved in rescue.

Maybe rather than being critical of a bio written by someone else, it would be more productive for you to re-write Marvin's.  I believe you have had him for about a year now and are no closer to adopting him out than you were the day he first darkened your door.

Well, at least you are honest about your limitations.

I educate co-workers when I can. On food, training, and on where to get a dog. Either a legit breeder or a shelter.

    I'm just a bad boy.[;)]
