Send stay strong mom and dad and go to sleep Willa vibes your way. I can only imagine how hard this is but it truly will pay off. ((HUGS))

*sigh*  I went to Costco this afternoon with a neighbor and sampled this wonderful cheese - "something" chevre.  It's goat cheese, but French instead of Greek, so it's similar in some ways to Feta but a little different.  More spreadable than crumbly. So a few minutes ago I went to get some out of the fridge and I couldn't find it.  Figured I must be going nuts, but where else would I have put it?  Not on the counter.  Not in the pantry.  I turned on the outside floodlight and went into the back yard and there on the lawn was the empty carton beside the little tupperware carton that had the leftover rice and veggies from dinner in it. I guess *someone* won't be hungry for that extra 1/2 c. of kibble. Sad And I guess I'll be heading back to Costco tomorrow and this time I'll make sure not to leave it on the counter. At least he has good taste in cheese.

Took some things over to our new house. I knew the neighbors on one side had yard dogs (one in the front yard, one in the back...no, I have no idea why) but didn't know that there was a barky dog on the other side as well..as well as in the yard across the alley.  That is a lot of barky dogs..I hope they hush sometime, or we'll be playing a lot of loud tv.

Discovered that the one shed in the backyard (which we didn't look in when originally looking at the house) has a tub, electricity and a water heater. The exhaust thing on the heater doesn't look hooked up, so have no idea if it works..will have to ask the landlord. Water isn't hooked up yet so couldn't check. If it was it would be a most splendid area to bath a certain Chow lad.

We were supposed to have people move us tomorrow, but we couldn't get ahold of the electric company to get them to put power on, and internet doesn't hook up til Wednesday. Yes, internet is a huge deal :p We have to call the water people (not open on Saturdays) but they do same day service.

So not sure if it's wise to move big things tomorrow. We can't send the fridge, etc as things would go bad.  And can't send the bed, as we'd have nowhere to sleep while here. So, we'll see.

I think Aesop will be relegated to tie out potties at the new house..with so many dogs barking, he was acting like an idiot.  I'm not letting him continue his fence fighting issue.  Thank heavens the other three are happy to ignore neighbor animals.

I can't find my fricken green notebook. It has stuff from this and last semester, and I sorta need to find it by at 7am, when I will be hitting the road for my meeting. Anyone seen a green notebook. I colored on the front of it with my pen. Reward for finding it.

Well, the vibes worked! She fell asleep after less than an hour of crying. She slept all night, but got up at 6:30 am. Usually it's 7-8. So I'm still tired but it went better than expected. She was really crabby this morning but seems to be getting better.

Thanks for the vibes! But stay on standby; I may need them again tonight. Stick out tongue

yea Willa - you are such a good big girl now!  (night 1 in the books LOL)

we went to the Raleigh Christmas parade yesterday - we always take B so it was kind of lonely.  It was a good parade better than last year.  It is really weird to me though that they hold it so early.

Today lots of chores and then some more chores.  The weather and work has not provided the opportunity to fully clean up the yard after those storms last week so the yard needs a lot of attention as does my house.  We are only have a few people for Turkey day but still lots to do to prepare.

I have taken B off the Rimadyl as we are having some poop issues.  That stuff scares me, the surgeon said to keep using it till gone but if I skip today and the poop resolves its over!  B feels wonderful and I can see that although I thought the hard part was the beginning of this process it is only beginning. All kidding aside I think the anesthesia has caused him memory loss and we are going to having to do much retraining.

I had a chat a bit ago with my friend that went to Afghanistan in October, he is there until Feb.  I truly cannot imagine how difficult it is on the family members of soldiers and others over there. Bless all of you.

    Way to go Willa!

It's been a lazy morning.  We woke up & went to Starbucks for coffee/breakfast.  The dogs were thrilled to get to go, & the kids were thrilled for junk food for breakfast.  I was just happy not to have to worry with breakfast.

Now, the boys are watching a football game, & I'm trying to decide which book to read.

Yay for Willa!! I would imagine the first night would always be the worst, so here's hoping tonight is much better.

Joyce - When I was reading your post I was sure the cheese had never made it home. As a dog owner, I'm not sure why I didn't go to the "the dog ate it" place first. Max definitely had a yummy treat :)

I came out of the shower to find that Sassy had thrown up 2x on the carpet. It was that yucky dark brown/orange that doesn't go well with my light colored carpet. I spent close to 30 mins working on the stain and I think it's pretty well gone now. Wasn't the way I like to start my morning though. We went to the gym after that and then stopped for groceries. Just finished a mega breakfast and will enjoy the Sunday paper and a nap later. Man, I love weekends!

LOL, Max! I knew he was going to be the culprit.

    Willa, sleep tight!

I am watching TV and trying to finish up some homework, ugh. We don't have cable, only the basic, basic channels. I'm watching men's figure skating and that always makes me feel awkward. It's a good distraction from homework though.

Anybody know about Windows 7? BF's computer is a train wreck, he has a ton of viruses and junk. The laptop itself is a really nice HP, his parents got him the docking station and everything. He's just dumb and didn't keep up with the virus protection. I was thinking about getting him Windows 7 for Christmas and installing it, but I am really not computer-savvy so I don't know if I should buy the actual program, or if he just needs the upgrade? I think I might go to Best Buy or someplace and ask, but I don't want them to take complete advantage of me.

The dogs and I, and boyfriend, spent three hours today at the beach and walking the trails at one of the national parks. We had such a great time, the dogs are worn out and are just stupid-happy. I took lots of pics, they will come in time in the photos section!! The only run-in we had was with these folks walking their two Yorkies offleash, and once they saw us walking of course they bolted towards us. I had to instruct the dogs to get behind me and I had to actually use my foot to physically nudge the dog away as it kept trying to run behind me to see the dogs. I was a quite irritated and wanted to shout out "Control your dogs!!!". It's nice to know their dogs were (probably) friendly, but Gaci was all but happy that she had little gremlins encroaching on their space. Doesn't matter how careful you are, the other bozo's try to wreck it for you.

We went to Wally world on the way home and I picked up a few wonderful Christmas decorations! I got a nice pillow/throw combination for the couch, and I got a nice floor mat with snowmen on it that I'll probably put in front of the kitchen sink. We also picked up our advent calendars to eat our chocolate every day before Christmas. There are some things I don't grow out of!

Now we're home to relax for a bit before heading to the parents' for a family supper. Great weekend overall!

I'm so tired.  I worked too hard for a weekend and want just one more day off. lol  I'm so glad it's a four day weekend coming up.  Twister needs to go in to the vet tomorrow.  He's had loose stools and hasn't been feeling good this weekend.   He's been eating but not with his usual crazed enthusiasm.

Have a nice Sunday evening everyone.

Glenda, I just want to know who eats all that food??    Lol Confused

    I

    • Gold Top Dog

Jackie - I hope it's nothing serious with Twister. As bad as my dog's have felt at times, they've never backed off on their gusto for food. I know that must be worrisome but hopefully he's just got a bug of some kind.

It's been a pretty relaxing day here but I'd still love to have another day off. I'm supposed to connect with my friend tomorrow about a possible job opportunity. I'm not terribly excited about it but I am very curious.

     Jackie hope Twister is AOK!

Meg Windows 7 has gotten great reviews - DH upgraded from Vista and is happy.  I have an upgrade for my laptop but really want a different laptop so waiting for the Black Friday ads then will decide.  If your BF's laptop is Vista it is an upgrade and if it is Home Premium you need to stay with & Home premium.  Sounds like he could use a clean install and have it all backed up.  If you and he can swing it get someone to do it for you.  Then they can set it up so he doesn't have to think about updating anything - I did that for my mom, her antivirus and firewall auto update

I'm exhausted.  House work, yard work, bits and pieces of real work and worrying about B has used up my Sunday.

I have to get an early start every day up to Thanksgiving.  Just keep on moving ay?
