Lisa, if you haven't checked your PM's this morning, you should...just sayin.  Lemme know what you think.

I love it!!! Hopefully it is showing up for everyone!!  Thank you so much Candace!!!

I'd join in a vigil, but I'll prob still be at work (get home between 9 and 9:30pm EST) - I'll visualize a candle lighting at the appropriate time, though!

Love the new sig Lisa!  Great job Candace!

Lisa - I love the new siggie!!

Did anyone watch Oprah yesterday? It was about the women who'd been attacked by her friend's 200 lb chimpanzee and her face was almost ripped off. She lost both her eyes, her nose and most of her jaw. The reveal of her face made me want to cry. I'm sure they'll continue to do reconstructive surgery on her, but right now she wears a scarf over her face. She had such an amazing, positive outlook though. It's amazing to see how resillient some people are.

Cathy, I did not see Oprah - some of us had to work.  Stick out tongue  I'd like to think this kind of incident would remind people why wild animals are not good pets, but we know the reality.

I'll probably be in bed by 9:00p Colorado time, but will light a candle at 9:00p my time.

I am helping organize the shelter's Christmas open house and have been offered free radio advertising for a week, so just need to come up with the info we want in the ads.  I don't care much for holidays, but was excited to get this offer.   It's for the animals, maybe that's why I feel good about it.

Hmm, I haven't seen the thread about Brutus. I will have to check. I hope he's ok.

I got in trouble today for parking in an executive parking spot apparently. I had no idea and there was no sign...Anyway, I left my cell phone in the car so when they couldn't get a hold of me they called my boss (who was in the same meeting). Oops! It's funny how parking spaces are a sign of status, isn't it?

I know Sad but I actually recorded it and watched it last night. I don't know why, but when I saw what was going to be on, I thought it would be interesting. I wish I hadn't seen it though and especially not before I went to sleep.

Holidays aren't really my thing either but helping with the shelter's open house sounds like a great way to get in the spirit. I should try to find something inspirational like that too.

Count me in on the candle lighting too.  Is CO one hour ahead of us or two?

Lisa, I love that new sig.  It's amazing.  Candace, you are extremely talented.

I called my BF in Crescent City last night because her youngest DS (who is also my Godson) is stationed at Ft. Hood.  He was out on the rifle range when this happened and fortunately he thought to call his mom before it broke on the news. I think it rained like maybe three or four drops last night.  If it weren't for a couple of small puddles on the little deck in back no one would ever know, and it obviously isn't going to rain today.

I saw it.  I was very inspired by her positive out look and was in shock that she is still alive, but, I used to intern at a rescue for retired circus animals/animal actors/unwanted exotic pets and we were one of the few facilities that could house chimps...even among zoos....so I understand what these creatures are capable of.  One of our chimps was raised as a child in a woman's household (actually, most of the cute chimp greeting cards from the 70's and 80's were probably him) and, when he hit puberty (ie..no longer cute and easy to control) he tipped a refrigerator on its side and ripped the door off because they couldn't give him a snack RIGHT NOW.  I am a FIRM believer that those who buy exotic pets should know what they are getting into...that cute chimp is not a human baby...when it turns 6 it WILL have the streingth of 7 men and it WILL have a temper worse than anything you've ever seen....just the same as that cute little tiger cub is not a kitty cat...it will require 17 pounds of meat per feeding and YOU try to get a 500 lb tiger to poop in a box of sand.Zip it!  ok...I'll step off the soapbox now.

CO is Mountain Time, so one hour ahead of California.  I was thinking 7pm my time, 6pm Pacific would mean 9pm Eastern... is that too late for our East coast friends, tho?  5pm Pacific seems so early for y'all.

    • Gold Top Dog

Um, I already started.  Hope y'all don't mind.

9PM Eastern is when I was going to light mine - I'll just be home from work. I'm so worried about Brutus.

Tiki and Pirate went to the groomer this morning :) and they look SO good. Pirate is pouting, but Tiki is walking around going 'look at me mom!' LOL. She should, they painted her nails, gave her not one, not two, but THREE bows, and...the best part...earings! They are just stick-ons :) but it's still hilarious and super adorable.

I would get pictures, but it's super grey and windy here...blech.

I love the new sig Lisa! Great work again, Candace.

Willa is all congested. Yesterday she only took a 20 minute nap (usually it's 1.5-2 hours.) She seemed a little stuffy when she got up but she didn’t have a fever and wasn’t acting sick. Last night I put her to bed and she woke up crying about 45 minutes later. She was pretty stuffy. She still doesn’t have a fever, but she was crabby and it took me about 45 minutes of reading books and rocking to get her back to bed. I really hope it’s just a cold. She got a flu shot but no the H1N1.

I have a ton of work to do and I don't feel like doing it. Sad Surprisingly it's a couple of logos, which I usually love doing, but I'm just not into it right now. Probably because one is for a contest and the other is pro-bono for a vizsla club.

I am so bored of this swine flu. I've gotta sit at home one more day though.
