Mindless- What the heck is today?

I keep losing days! Our entire computer system is down. Not sure if I am going to stay or just go home.

Karen, you and your DH are in my thoughts (((hugs)))

Closing has been postponed :o(  Partially b/c it took so long for the appraisal report to be turned in and partially b/c USDA is really busy and understaffed right now.  I'm supposed to find out today when closing will actually be.

On the bright side, Co-Co, BFs daughter and I, are going trick-or-treating tonight.  Our area does it on Saturday, but since we thought we'd be moving we decided to go to our church's neighborhood since they're doing it tonight.

I got fangs for my costume last weekend.  They're the kind that you have to melt some plastic stuff w/ water and then mold it around your teeth to hold it in place.  I did them on Tues and tried them on this morning to see if they'd stay in (I was skeptical) and plastic on one of them broke!  So no fangs for me tonight.  Bummer.

I'll have to get batteries for my camera so I can get some pics of all of us.  His daughter is going to be a lady bug and Co-Co has a prisoner costume.  I love Halloween :o)

Jennie, congrats on the new addition to your family!

Cathy, nice of you to check in!  Must be rough having to decide - beach or pool!

Amanda, new foster for you?  Is she a Dobe?

    I need to be cloned.

I'm concerned about Timmy. He has been scratching the last week or so, near his belly and back legs. He actually scratched it the other morning and it was bleeding a bit. It looks like dry skin, but he peed on the floor yesterday while we were at work, which is not like him at all, he barely peed on the floor as a puppy and this morning he wouldn't eat his breakfast. He also keeps wanting to go out every 30 minutes or so. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? We are going to call his breeder this evening and make a vet appointment for him, but until then, I'd like to have some idea of what we could possibly be dealing with. FH seems to think it might be an allergy of some sort, but we haven't changed his food or anything.

On the happy side of things, I found out that I have a lot more holidays left than I thought I did. I'm not really sure how, but apparently I get many more days than I thought or expected....soooo...WOO!

I don't feel like being at work today.  But alas, here I am.

I was given a rather large task yesteday for today, and I asked the lawyer for about an hour's worth of time with no distractions (there are three other girls here, one of which starte dlast week as a studnt worker) let's see if i get my hour!  I know I won't lol.  I don't even get a quiet lunch!

And I feel like eating my egg salad sandwich now.  I'm hungry.

One of my co workers is really not well.  She has been having bowel issues the past several weeks, really bad, and her doctors office are a bunch of bozos.  I told her to consider going to the hospital in our town (literally behind our houses), they never have anyone there, and going now over 3 weeks with non stop problems like this isn't healthy!

I don't feel like being at work any day, let alone today ;p

The heavy fog has affected (or is it effected) my sinuses today. Bleh.

I'm really proud of Abbikens. I think we are making some headway. Our CU class was canceled last night, but that just gives me more time to work with her! I feel like we did a lot last week but we didn't even do all the exercises. It's hard with 4 dogs because what I do with 1 dog I pretty much have to do with 3 more. Anyhow, Abbie now knows that if she brings me something she gets a treat. That is going pretty well and will maybe stop her from poisoning herself in the future.

I'm on the fence about going to SAR training tonight. The weather is sucking big time! I need to get new waterproof gear too.

Amanda, new foster for you?  Is she a Dobe?

No. She's a lab mix. One of the volunteers is being difficult about letting her foster with me because "it's going to be too stressful". I suppose that just letting her be euthanized would be better, in her opinion. There may be news on the dobe front soon. Without saying too much, it looks like I may be in the dober pup business for a few weeks until fosters can be located. The person looking to "liquidate" is rather flaky so I'm not sure that it is going to work out. If it does, I'll be making the 4 hour drive to Lufkin tomorrow to pock them up.

Gah.  I've been such a slacker because of my foot that it's becoming a habit.  Now that I can get around easier & almost painfree I have no inclination to do so.

Amanda, thank you for giving the Dobe girl a chance.  If anyone can bring her around, you can.

And living pretty much in a kennel for the last four years isn't stressful?

Poor girl!  I'd be super shy if I lived in a kennel for 4 years too.

Stacy, I hope there's nothing serious going on with Timmy.  I have no ideas on what's wrong but am sending good vibes for him and you.

I'll join the ranks of those who don't want to be at work. lol  We are supposed to have storms today with high winds.  That should be fun.  Twister is feeling good again because his vacc abcess drained yesterday.  That's the second big abcess he's had and I am seriously thinking of not doing the rattlesnake vaccine for him any more.  Trouble is we do see rattlesnakes, even in the yard occasionally and we walk in an area that is very brushy and snakey.

Amanda, is that the Lab you posted about a while back?  The one in such terrible condition?  If you do get those Dobe pups from Lufkin, DON"T drink the water in that town. That is one stinky little town.  Go to Lockhart and have some Q while you're in the area.  :)

Annie, I've been meaning to ask about your foot but from your post it must be doing pretty good.  :)

Jackie, I plan to be in dance form by Saturday for a halloweenie party. Every day is better & better. Big Smile

I had no idea that there was even a rattlesnake vaccine.  *ponders vaccines*

I heard about it when I lived in Tucson, and thought about it for G.  Never encountered a rattlesnake, though.  Just scorpions and tarantulas.

I've clearly missed some threads about new fosters/family additions.  Congrats to Jennie on her new Italian Greyhound, and Amanda and her potential new friends.

Later today I'll have some time to share my story about last night's Nuggets game: the entertainment both during and after the game.  Right now, I gotta get some work done while thawing out.  I trudged through 2 foot snowbanks on the walk from the bus stop into work.  Yay me!!
