MC Humpday

I'm so sorry Karen.  We'll keep you and your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Yes, they removed a piece of bone from Jens big toe.  It's wait and see whether or not they'll need to remove more.  She still has the pic line, and since she had an allergic reaction to the last antibiotics, they've changed her meds and the nurse is coming 2X daily for now until she gets used to hanging the bag and starting the IV herself.  Guess that the drip takes an hour twice a day.  Not an easy thing for a woman with three kids under the age of 10 and two who are being homeschooled!

So, whatever this sickness is I've got, someone needs to HELP ME!!  Yesterday I did the marathon cooking/freezing session and made 3 loaves of raisin bread.  Today I've got Dawn's recipe going for more bread.  I don't know what particular bug bit me, but gosh, I'm running out of room in the freezers!

Trying to squeeze some cleaning and show prep in between the kitchen.  At least tonights dinner is already to pop in the oven.  I'm insane....that's all there is to it.

Well, if you hadn't moved, I'd be over to *help*.Stick out tongue

Returning to work from lunch, saw parking lot puppies for sale in a new spot.  Got a hold of the volunteer group to see if someone can go speak to them.  They are in the city limits and must be licensed, though I'm sure they aren't, considering they were selling them out of the back of an SUV.  I did not have time to stop and wait for the sheriff.  Paige & Amanda, this will tick you off - they're selling Dobe pups. Angry

Big hugs for Karen.  I'm so sorry to hear about your MIL.

Grady, you and Sammy really are kindred spirits.  He doesn't get to sleep in the bed either, though Harry does (cuz he did before we got Sammy).  Sammy says you should come over and swap stories while romping through a field with him.  Only underappreciated black dogs allowed, lol.

Ohhhhhhhhh, Heather, they would look so cute romping together too.  Both boys have long legs too.

No comment on your 'cheer' Deb.  I'm disgusted. Not at you but at my team.

Just teasin' you, Annie. I know Grady is lubbed.

    Has anyone else's facebook account been "unavailable" all day? Annoying! {ETA: It works now. Smile}

I slipped and fell down the stairs, oh, about 2-3 weeks ago. I went bumpbumpbumpbump down about four stairs on my rump. I think I bruised my tailbone because it still hurts, especially when I sit certain ways, especially in my office chair.

    ((hugs)) to Karen.

    Poor Grady!

Our house is just the opposite of your's Annie.  Here, the big dogs get to sleep with us, & the little guys sleep in thier beds.  When Shooter stretches out in our bed, he, literaly, takes up more room that Bevo.  Schatzi & Angel do the same thing, so they are relagated to their beds, where they can stretch out to their heart's content.

Glenda, I'll come help!  By help, you do mean eat, right???

I showed our old house to potential renters this morning.  They "really want to live in this neighborhood" but they can't afford to buy there, which, you would think would have been great for me.  Not so much.  Apparently, they are hoping to find a large house, in a very nice neighborhood, for one bedroom apartment priced rent.  I was shocked when they offered $600 less, per month, than what I am asking.  Once the shock wore off, I started laughing uncontrollably at them.  Then I reamed them for wasting my time, since they knew ahead of time that they couldn't afford the rent.  Angry

I also met with another potential housekeeper.  She seemed very nice.  She has great references, & she didn't seemed phased when I told her that we had 2 kids & 7 dogs.  We are going to do a trial cleaning next week.  I really hope that it works out.

I have venison stew cooking in the crock pot.  I hope that it turns out all right.

      Argh, that is irritating.

Karen, I'm thankful your MIL's passing was peaceful.  You continue to remain in our thoughts and good wishes.

We are in the midst of a snow storm - dropping 10-18 inches between today/tomorrow, with up to 24 in some areas.  I suspect where I live won't be the 24 mark, but where I work may be.  Tonight we're supposed to go to the Nuggets season opener against the Utah Jazz, and the game doesn't start until 8:30 - I presume because it's being broadcast on ESPN.  We have suite tix, so, I really really hope we don't miss out.

Sister went to start her truck yesterday for work, and it wouldn't start.  Got it jump started, then brought it to the dealership so they could take 2 hours to replace the battery.  Have I mentioned she's only owned this truck for maybe 7 weeks?  She's investigating her options under the lemon laws.

Snow.... Snow... Snow.... Snow.... the radio keeps playing that song about "The weather outside is frightful..."  Ptuey.

    • Gold Top Dog

Aloha everyone!! It's only 12:40 here but almost everyone else is probably having dinner now. The weather is gorgeous today. It was super humid yesterday and we could barely stand to be outside but today the tradewinds are back and it's beautiful. We went down to the beach and then headed to the pool. DH much prefers the pool and although I tend to feel the same way, it just seems wrong to be so close to the beautiful ocean and not swim in it.

We both worried a bunch about the dogs but have already heard that the sitter and the dogs are doing great. Whew!!

Karen - I'm sorry to hear about your MIL and will keep your family in my thoughts and prayers.

Hope everyone is doing well and I do wish you were all here. We'd be having one big, amazing party right now. ParadiseDrinks

    Some days, I hate people.

We are adding a foster girl tomorrow.  She has been living in a kennel with a rescue group for the past 4 years.  The group is out of space, & has no available foster homes right now.  They are at the point that they are about to have to euthanize for space.  Since she isn't adoptable due to extreme shyness, she will be one of the first dogs to go.  I really think that with a little work, a non-kenneled life, & "normal" dogs around her, she will come out of her shell.  I hope that I'm right.
