and to start I'm very cautious.
First I let Molly meet my new fosters with the baby gate between them. I'd hold the kittens up and Molly would nudge them and whine.
Next step was to let Molly into the foster room with me holding her collar so she could see the babies up close. She'd nudge and the kittens would crowd around her feet.
The high step Molly does is funny. She's making sure she doesn't step on them.
Now, every morning, Molly is at their door whining with the kittens loudly meowing on the other side. So I let Molly in there this morning without me holding her collar (but I was very close and observant at all times).
One kitten, the all gray very skittish older one, ran under the sofa. Molly didn't chase, she went to the spot where gray one disappeared and sniffed. Then turned her attention to the 2 young ones. They were walking around meowing. Molly nudged them and sniffed them.
I'm surprised at how good she is as she gets so excited. She doesn't chase or bark at them at all.
I think it's good to get the kittens used to a dog. This way when they go back to the shelter they have had some positive dog interaction.
It's so cute. I haven't gotten pictures cause I'm more intent on watching her with the kittens I need to focus on that rather than getting a picture. When I'm feeling more comfortable with their interactions I'll try to get one.
Here are the kittens
