Mindless Weekend Edition

HAHAHAHA!

Morning all. What a week. We had 25 new patients this week and I am exhausted from all the paperwork. I have also imposed a self inflicted computer embargo at work so that I could keep up. How is everyone today?

I started my morning off with 3 furry beasts in my face demanding breakfast, the rabbit would have joined in but he has not figured out how to get out of his cage and open doors, thank goodness. My punishment for being late? I huge sinus headache. I hate the rapid, unpredictable weather changes.

So what is a girl to do when she is tired and has a headache? Well she makes bread.  I have a huge amount of dough currently raising in my oven. Enough to make 4 or 5 loaves. I decided to give in to my "homemade toasted bread with butter and fresh blackberry jam" craving. The heck with carbs, sugar and starches, I WANT IT, so therefore I shall have it. I will share it though with my neighbors, because nothing tastes better than homemade bread.

I then put a nice chuck roast in the crockpot for dinner.

Someone make the weather nice please, the dog is wearing me out throwing his toys.

ETA: I hope Maghee and Agnes are doing better. Abbie too!

Hey Glenda, how has your niece and DIL been?  Good thoughts for Abbie and Agnes and Maghee and anyone else who needs them.

Lazy day, kind of.  Had to get up at the crack of dawn to drop DH off at work for some workshop thing he's running, have to do some chores and errands and go back out later, drop off Sam at MIL, pick up DH, go to dinner at the same workshop thingy, and then head out for a bday/halloween party.  Never mind, lazy my butt, I wish I was doing NOTHING!

hehe, now this lifted my spirits, nothing like a little laughter and comedy to make one feel better.

I am up and already made breakfast for Derek and I, sausage, eggs and toast lol.  Nice and simple. 

Then soon I will drag myself off the couch and get showered and drive to the other city to pick up my friend to go look at wedding dresses :)

Then when I get home, I have to pull up my dead gardens and Derek says I can start putting up halloween stuff!!!!!!!! wooohoooo!!

Derek has told me time and again that I need a hobby, so I decided on decorating cakes :)  So last night after work he took me out and bought me a whole bunch of stuff to do that.  So i will make cakes tonight and practice :D

I am so tired though, I fell asleep on the couch last night and woke up at 2, went to bed, then was awake at 730 yuuuuck!

I'm so tired that at first I hit Edit instead of Reply to your post and it took me a few seconds of "hey, where's the Quote button?" before I realized my mistake.  Also so tired that I forgot to mention Abbie in our well-wishes, too!  That situation really has me worried for her and her momma. 

Someone might as well string me up to the rafters and hit my like a pinata, because I am THAT beat...

The bread recipe is very simple. Milk, sugar, salt, shortning, yeast and flour. I only have one jar of jam and I bought that at a farmers market. I could send you a jar of Kentucky Backberry jam if you like?

DIL is doing ok.  My niece is going back for more surgery on Monday.  They have to remove the part of the bone(s) that are dead or dying.

I am beyond exhausted.  No clue why, but I feel like I could crawl back into bed and sleep for the rest of the weekend.  It's cloudy and chilly here today...feels like more rain so just not a real energetic sort of day.  I am going to bake bread to go with the tater soup I need to get started.  And, I have to repot a few plants today.  Other than that, I can be a little lazy.  I really NEED to be a little lazy!

Nummy, I want fresh bread and jam, too. 

I still have boxes to sort and no motivation.  I have bathed and groomed the little crestie weasel though, so that's one thing down.

Its a beeeeeautiful day in Magnolia Texas today!  Crisp, clear marvelous weekend ahead. 

I'm going to a jewelry showing/party today to support a friend.  This woman is an up and coming jewelry designer; who will likely be able to quit her day job and make a living off of her designs.  And, when she gets famous, I'll be able to say  I know her...LOL

 Glenmar, I've been following what's going on with your neice in the other thread...that's just so awful, I'm thinking about her and her kids.

I have to work tonight...and I'm kind of looking forward to it. Everyone in my house has been sick, DH was first, then me, now the kids, so all the needy people at work will be like a break from all the needy people at home.

On the upside, I have health insurance as of yesterday. My work dropped the hourly requirement down from 35/week to 30/week...I average 33/week *eyeroll*, so as soon as they lowered it I signed up and I'm pretty excited about it. First order of business is having my eyes checked next week. Yay.

Today is going to be a cleaning, dog snuggling rest day. My fever is gone. Just feeling that flu achyness. The weather is sucking, cold wet and gloomy

I only have a minute to make a quick bitch! We got our new dog on Thanksgiving weekend (Canada) so I decided I would for go hosting and have everyone (15) today. It is my son's birthday so it will be a double celebration. My family is bailing. I'm down to 8 including the 5 of us. Luckily I can cut my roast in half. They should be here any minute so I'm opening the wine NOW! I'm done hosting family dinners.

That looks so wonderful!!!  A long time ago my grandmother tried teaching me how to bake bread, but I kept washing the *gooey stuff* off my hands and wound up with something the size of a biscuit. Now I just pull a loaf of Schwan's out of the freezer.  I know ... it's not the same thing.
