Annie, is Maghee taking CoQ10?  I have a friend who has a dobe who is CHF.  She's on Vetmedin, lasix, & CoQ10.  It is supposed to help oxygenate the tissues.  If she isn't taking it, then it might be worth a try.

Thanks ladies.  Cuddles delivered.  As I sit here & watch her struggle to breath I wonder how long can I keep her going?  How long is it fair to keep her going.  I know that her heart is getting weaker.  This IS the hard part about adopting an older girl.  I wouldn't give up the time we've had together for anything.

I'm so sorry you're going thru this. It makes me sad just to think about it. (((HUGS))) and Amanda - I'd like a brownie too.

((hugs)) to all my i-dog friends who need them!

Sarah, that video is funny! Rupert was concerned about the squealing, though. Smile

I reached the peak of my stress last week. If 1 more bad thing happened I would have had a melt down.

Lily was doing so great with sar, but last week we hit a wall. Lily got stressed out and shut down. She did everything else but work; sniff, eat grass, yawn, run off away from us, etc. It was very clear that under no terms was she comfortable with the situation. Part of it was my stress, part of it was the pressure she felt from my mentor, who doesn't have experience working with a soft dog. Anyway, the bottom line was that my mentor felt that lily should be able to work though the stress and because she didn't she is not cut out for hrd. I was sooooooo disappointed. We had been working so hard and doing so well. It seemed that this was her calling. Oh well. I don't think they were fair. Technically each dog gets 15 weeks to advance in level. They only gave lily 4. But what are you going to do. They are the experts. I am going to try neiko and abbie in air scenting and see if they can make it.

I'm having minor surgery tomorrow, so trying to drinnk as many fluids as possible before having to go Gremlin at midnight. No food doesn't faze me, as I don't eat at midnight...I do like to stay hydrated though.

We had a cute pup at work being neutered after being adopted at the shelter. 4 months old and looked like a brown and white Grimm. Very cute.

Then we had someone come in with a pup they adopted over the weekend that came up positive for parvo today. They promptly took it back to the shelter and exchanged it like a shirt for a new puppy. They then had that small unvaccinated puppy in the same car the other was loose in, and will be taking said pup back to the home where the other puppy ran around for 2 days. Sad.  It is very frustrating that people here don't want to pay for anything when they get a dog or cat from the shelter..they'll balk at paying for vaccines, etc. Just because it is from a shelter doesn't mean it is a discount pet.  And, I cannot fathom having no bond with a pup after a few days and exchanging for a 'better model'.
