Apparently another huge fire broke out last night, in addition to the one burning in Santa Barbara. They have sustained winds of 20 - 40 mph and gusts up to 70 mph so it's going to be a doozy to get put out. This one is only about 20 miles north of downtown Los Angeles and is threatening the power grid, so they're asking all southern Californians to only use whatever power is absolutely necessary and to really conserve water. They could lose power to all of Los Angeles. The TV footage showed some houses with those pretty red tile roofs ... they are fireproof, but some of them got so hot with flying embers that they collapsed down inside the homes. I don't think we have forum members right in that particular area, but I'm sure a lot of them farther south are getting the smoke and embers big time.
