Where do you buy your jackets Northerners?

Thanks everyone for your replies.  Lilys_mum, thanks for the links, I might just have to order some of those things for Kale and the girls, and maybe even something for my nephew.  I'll look around at the men's stuff too for Tyler, but I think I'll likely get him to buy something from Barretts, which is our local Sporting Goods store, and also owned by a friend of mine who's wife is expecting quadruplets soon...he likely needs the business.  LOL.  Totally forgot about him.

For college, my dear mother splurged and got me a really, really nice Oakley coat. (On sale, at an outlet store, it was about $200.) It's lasted through 4 years of really hard abuse and only now is looking a little bit ragged. It was the thickest down you could get, and is just a really amazingly well designed coat. Spandex hand thingies so snow doesn't go down your sleeves, zipoff down hood, vents and pockets everywhere imaginable, and WARM... that coat kept me warm through -35*F temps (-45* with windchill).

If you're really looking for top of the line, I was (and still am) madly in love with my Oakley coat. Super warm, very durable, and very well made.

REI has some of the best coats out there. They are well thought out and breathable so they keep you warm, but not too warm. If you do a search on winter coat reviews you'll find REI up there with the best.
