Quick! Can I watch The Shining...alone?

Oddly enough, it keeps popping up everywhere today.  I did an image search for family portraits today and there was one of the family from the shining on the first page.  It came up a few other times too for random things.  I wonder if I just noticed them today because it was on last night?

Maybe its one of those things you were supposed to watch to learn something from??

Hmm, lets see.... Things I learned from watching The Shining...

    1. Avoid all Jack Nicholson look-a-likes!!

    2. take your kid to a therapist instead of an isolated haunted hotel if he's a little "different"?

    3. Walk backwards in your own snow footprints to throw someone off your trail.

I have honestly used this...... growing up in the prairies where it can be hard to play hide and seek in the snow.

    4. If your husband gets drunk and harms your child have him arrested.

PS I love the Steven Weber version too.One of the great things about getting older is I can go back and see all those horror classics again because I forget all the details.I just watched Alien the other day and It was like seeing it for the first time.

I would say you can watch it alone, though I have never found a horror movie that scares me so I guess I might not be the best for advice on it.  One thing I can say about the shining, is that movie seems like it goes on forever!!!  Last time I caught it on I ended up naming my new mantis Redrum somewhere halfway through the movie when it kept coming up. Stick out tongue
