I buy the stuffed animals that are on super clearance after each holiday - like christmas, easter, etc.

Once the stuffing gets pulled out, they can still play with them. So, I don't even bother to sew them up anymore.

for IKEA, you'd have to check with them. you can just go on their website, they might have prices there. i can only draw comparison to prices here... i get them for about 10 RMB usually which is about 2 dollars... but it might be different in the states...

That's what I do.  I think there's actually still the bare, torn, shell of a scarved snowman laying around here somewhere....Stick out tongue

I love the idea of the yard sales, I never thought of that.  Honor LOVES stuffies big time, they're a major glee-fest for her, but she just PUNISHES them with a vengeance.  Some poor octopus I bought on clearance lasted a record 15 seconds before the loss of one leg, and only 2 minutes before it was no longer.

But for some reason, the only stuffie-like toy that lasted for her was this Nylabone Hedgehog...I think because it had a tennis ball inside the stuffing maybe?  But it was with us for months before she rendered it useless.

The Sally Ann and thrift stores have bins of stuffies.  I just go through them and pick the ones that look the sturdiest.  Even they don't last long though.

You can get the Kong stuffies that are made of something similar to fireman's hose.  They might last a bit.
