I stop eating when I'm stressed

    I was just telling someone, you'd never know it to look at me but I'm the same way.  When things are really dire, I don't eat.  Nothing tastes good and i Have to force myself to eat.  Back when I got divorced and my ex was 'stalking' me, I lost like 50 pounds because all I ate was tomato sandwiches for about 3 months.  they were cheap, I could eat them standing up with just a napkin (no dishes, nothing to prepare but the toaster, a jar of mayo and a 'mater!).  I knew when it was getting better because food started to sound good again.

    Actually Callie, there are few things yummier than a good 'mater sandwich - maybe on a nice sourdough roll with a slice of mozzarella and a drizzle of olive oil. Who needs meat when you can have 'maters and cheese? Smile

    Hmmm, can't say I have this problem!  I eat when I'm bored and stressed.  Not so much stressed like relationship or money issues, but dumb stuff like before Michael Phelp's last race in the Olympics, I probably ate 3 bowls of my homemade Chex Mix in an hour.  Same for the balance beam final, or any scary movie, lol.

    I do sometimes get in these obsessive moods where I won't stop for ANYTHING until I'm done, like cleaning the entire house until I'm so hot and hungry I want to pass out.  Lately though I've had this weird thing where if I get really hungry (as in, my stomach is empty, not just when I think I feel hungry) I start getting a stomach just under my breast bone, like having an ulcer except it hurts when I'm empty, not after I eat.

    When I am stressed, I don't eat.  Actually, I usually try to keep myself busy & forget to eat. 

    At the beginning of August, I lost 18 pounds.  I was really stressed, & just not in the mood to eat.

    Since last Thursday, I've lost a substantial amount of weight again.  I've been both stressed & busy, & haven't found time to eat.  I know that it isn't healthy, & I have been trying to pay attention to what I eat.  Some days, it's just so hard.

    When I'm bored I eat.  When I'm worried I eat.  When I'm celebrating I eat.  When I am realy stressed and anxious about something I may not eat for days!

    Uh, yea....I'm deffinitely not a stress eater.  Like others have said....bored - yea bring on the munchies!  But stress....nope.  I have to make a conscious effort to eat.  It didn't used to be a big deal, but now that I'm on my diabetic meds, not eating is a huge no no.  Not eating = low blood sugar which is dangerous.
