Hi Callie , Gross as it sounds when we have a TS come through we have a simply back up plan. An x pen is set up in the far corner of the dog room with a tarp down then use a bale or two of fresh cedar chips. You my not know it But Ridgbacks Melt in the Rain they will hold it for upwards of two days if allowed. Instead I modify water slightly, very slightly... I have a piece of paper that had been peed on ina zip lock baggie it goes under the cedar chips to scent the area for approval. It is soo much easier to clean this mess up than to worry about UTIs etc...
Water is always a big worry for me so I keep all of the gallon lemonade and fruit punch jugs bought for the kids they get cleaned then refilled. Being on a well can be a pain in the behind. We have done 25 years of Southern weather so it is all old hat now. If we have a weird feling we evacutate in the RV to a campsite or wal mart just out of range wne it makes landfally and the weather is clear back we go. We have only had 5-6 rough ones since we moved in.
If any of you need a dog friendly place just let me know ....the Irish are famous for tossing another potato in the pot we enjoy helping our friends!
Stay dry guys !!
We will keep the dry feet vibes going your way !!
