Wow, your hospital sounds pretty darn sweet!
I thought so too. The hospital in Thunder Bay where I had Kali, was so much bigger, you would expect it to be better. Not so though. I had to share a room with 3 other women with babies. And of course there had to be one woman that buzzed the nurses for every little thing. Funny cause she was the only other one in there besides me that didnt' have a c-section. Then one of the other babies was a crier, which sucks when yours isn't. Plus you can't leave your stuff in the bathroom, so each time you get up to go pee you have to cart your IV pole, plus pads and whatever else you need. It was just so nice to have my own room. Also in TBay I was nowhere near a window, so I had the feeling that I was in a basement the entire time...I don't even know for sure that I wasn't. Not a good feeling for me.
Oh and I really only had 2 nurses for my entire stay. That was nice because you get to know them and vice versa. There were a few others that would drop in randomly, but only two that were there primarily. I couldn't even tell you what my nurses names were in TBay.
The only thing that irratated me about my one nurse here was the fact that she told me that I had to put Kelci in her basinet to sleep. She told me that they don't "Allow" mothers to keep their babies in their beds to sleep. Ya, fat chance on stopping me if I wanted to. It just happens that I feel better knowing I have the freedom to move around so I put her in her own bed to sleep anyway, but I know lots of moms that keep their babies in their beds. Its even recommended by Jack Newman who is like the guru of breastfeeding.
