Floppy or Standing ears?

No ear is "not correct" on a BC so  I think my taste is colored by that.  The only thing that makes me go, "hmm!" is a really big triangle-shaped floppy ear, like a retriever or mastiff, on a BC.  Some lines, very old ones, have that (dates back to bird dog blood) and it still looks weird to me.

I think my favorite kind is the east-west ears, however.  Oddly, it's the only one I don't have a good representative of, in my pack.  Ben's are that was but set very low so he has to be very excited for them to look "right."  Which, Ben hardly is ever excited.  Wink

Most of the breeds that I am drawn to are cropped, but I do love to play with silky, floppy ears.

    I like standing tall ears...

Then I like big floppy ears.....

And I like these funny ears......

I love puppeh ears - mostly I just love puppies, ~L~

I've also always really enjoyed Pirate's ears - sticking up, but with strange fuzzies on the back :)

    Big, soft, silk and floppy...

I love the way they look when the dog runs or when the wind is blowing... And they give them such a lovely and kind expression.

Tiffy, I love it!  I forgot, my second favorite ear is one up one down.  Such a jaunty look.  Have only seen it regularly in mixed breeds and Border Collies, but I might be forgetting someone - feel free to correct me.

Awesomest. Dog. Evah.  My Rick, RIP (1999 - 2007).

Beware, sheep.  The ears are coming!

My first elkie mix had the best ears ever, they went up, down, all ways!

I don't have a real preference. I go for the personality of the dog. I don't care for severely cropped, or cropped much in general.

I just happen to have two pointy-ear dogs right now, and they look so cute together!

Shelties also do the one up, one down a lot if you don't tape their ears like most show breeders do. Very rarely do you naturally get a nice tipped ear. My late Nikki had the one up/one tipped thing going on.

I like those funny ears a whole whole lot!!

I loooove dog ears! Ears and feets are probably my favorite parts of the dog. Emma has cute, little button ears. Ena has HUGE, standing bat ears (she's going to fly away on them, any moment). Teenie had long, silky hound ears. I love them all, and every dog I've had has melted when you touched it's ears.... Probably has something to do with me stroking them, constantly, LOL.

i like the rose ears..... or coyote ears lol which would be the type (to me!) that you see on a corgi.

i also dont mind cropped ears if they arent too severe. but i prefer to see that on a working dog, not just a pet. - no debates please! just my preference!

I like whatever is natural to the breed.  Like I like the floppy ears on Great Danes better than the cut ears.

I have labs, so I suppose I am partial to floppy.

standy upy ears, please! I have always preferred them. But I like floppy ears on those that are supposed to have them-- I have seen exactly one crop job that I liked...
