My dogs are great. I honestly couldn't ask for better dogs. They are all reliable both on & off leash. They're great with strangers, & they love kids. I have no issue trusting them alone with my nieces, & cousins, when they are at our house visiting. Each dog knows, at least, basic obedience commands. ie..sit, stay, down, come, stop, leave it, & an emergency drop. They all housetrained very quickly. They do well with other dogs. They all get along. I don't have to worry about seperating them when I leave the house, because I know that there will be no issues between them. They are all atheletic enough to be able to comfortably keep up with our lifestyle.
Chyna is the sweetie. She is the most tolerant dog that I have ever met. She's been through numerous surgeries, both for tumors, & three leg surgeries. She breezed through chemo as if nothing were wrong. Recently, she rubbed an ulcer on her cornea. Even with a very painful eye, & treatment ocurring 4 times a day, she has stayed upbeat & cheerful.
Bevo is my "heart dog." He just knows what I want. He's so in tune with my moods that it isn't funny. When I'm sad, he does something silly to try to get a laugh. If I don't laugh, he comes to me to snuggle. Though aloof at times, Bev does very well with other people. He is very watchful of me, & he knows when I am uncomfortable with someone. When that situation arises, he positions himself between us & watches carefully. I rarely leash him because he has no desire to be anywhere but by my side. I know that he would walk through fire for me, & I feel the exact same way about him.
Brinxx is our silly girl. She's a total goofball & everyone's best friend! She is the well mannered greeter when guests arrive at our home. She loves to be the center of attention, but is not demanding. She doesn't come demanding petting, but rather curls up on your foot so that she is in contact with you without being a pest.
Shooter, is the "jerk". He's stubborn, hard headed, & willful. He's also sweet, loving & very outgoing. His good, & bad qualities are most like mine, & we share a special bond because of this. I love these qualities about him! He's very smart, when he wants to be. He is up for anything. If I want to take the bigger dogs hiking, there is no doubt that Shooter wants to come. He has no issue keeping up, even on long hikes. He doesn't let his little stubby legs slow him down for a second. He has no clue that he's a little guy, & he refuses to play with the little dogs. He will, inevitably, pick the largest dog in the dog park to play with. He has a great sense of humor. He loves to be silly for the sake of being silly.
Schatzi is our "shy", lap dog. She presents herself as quiet & shy until you get to know her. At home, Schatzi is content to sit in a lap for hours on end. (if only her owners were content to sit still that long!) When we are out, she is ready to play.
