Kitty question!

     Wow.. 5 kittens.. Geez..

Well I've decided to feed the kitten EVO dry when I get it and just keep an eye on the water intake..

I absolutely refused to but a litter box in the house and I forced the poor thing to learn to use the doggy door - which she did, grudgingly.

4 cats here, and not one litterbox. Makes me like cats more, I'll tell ya that. Big Smile

Scooping boxes gives me a terrible headache so lately I've just been dumping it all and replacing litter fresh.  I'd rather do this than have to scoop cat poop in the yard!  Dog poop I can handle, but cat poop makes me want to vomit and it smells way worse.

I'll admit when we switched Roo Bear over to canned food after her diabetes diagnosis, I was seriously wondering how I was going to stand the smell of her poops. But after her system adjusted to the new food and I found a flavor that she liked, the smell has disappeared. And, her poops are much, much smaller - usually just a single poop in a day since there isn't any fillers to expel. And since she is at her one year of diabetes diagnosis - and less than one month from her remission anniversary (diet controlled now!!) - I'll feed her anything I need to to keep her from having to have insulin shots! Heck, if I thought she would eat raw, I'd make mine own food for her. :)

Actually our cats tend to go in the gardens..they do a lot of burying out there. But when one of them does poop in a place I have to scoop, the only difference I notice is the size (although sometimes Cherokee's poop is so small it looks like cat poop..lol, so who knows). I never notice the smell.

I've always had indoor only cats. Even my cat who was found outdoors has no desire to go outside, and hasn't for any of the 2 years I've had her.  It's never been something I had to teach, as none of my cats, from those I had in childhood to the ones I have now, have ever shown any interest in the outdoors.

Hmmmm. All of my cats have always wanted to go outside. But I'm hoping to make inside more interesting then outside. That's why I'm getting the kitten in the winter so they get used to being inside already with everything closed.
