Kle - I hate to ask this, but are you *positive* (as in absolute, completely, vet-checked, and beyond ANY doubt) that Tico is a 'he'?  A rabbit's drive to mate is unbelievable -- and frankly, that would be good enough reason not to even leave windows open (yes, rabbits CAN mate thru their crate!!!  I've seen it done!) with the rabbit in that room. 

 Your friend is beyond dumb -- it's pretty well known that a rabbit can't be loose.

Chuffy is right -- write stuff down.  But ALSO **pay** someone -- simply because a friend doing you a favor just isn't motivated to get it right.  They don't think beyond "gotta feed her animals" -- and even then that can get forgotten or done by someone ELSE.

So ... I take them with us.  If at ALL possible we bring them with us (I've been known to take a betta fish on vacation!!!).  It's NEVER convenient -- often David and I have driven separate vehicles to one destination because we couldn't fit all the dogs PLUS the bird and its cage in one vehicle. 

But it's one of those things you sort of take on when you take on yet another animal.  Because honestly?  Friends are NEVER reliable -- they aren't their animals, they don't have to pay the price when they screw up.  And even the most well-intentioned friend just usually won't get it right. 

 And if you are even more verbal, write everything down (in red sharpie marker no less) -- then you just look like you don't trust them -- which generally has the opposite effect from making them more careful.  *sigh*

 Tico is a boy. He has the parts. Took him to a vet too when I first got him to get his nails trimmed. I wanted to get him neutered but no vets near me with neuter a rabbit. I would have to drive an hour to take him to a vet that would do that. He is the only rabbit in the house and he doesnt mark or anything like that. He loves to play with Kujo and Sassy.

I didnt pay my friend because we had an agreement that we would watch each other's pets when we are to be gone for a few days. I watched her dog while they went to Florida for a week in April.
