What's in a Name??

I only have one mildly interesting name story.  The last dog we got, she was a puppy when we got her.  We were living on an air force base at the time and you have to have your ID checked on the way in.  But when we drove in with the puppy they just pointed, cooed and waved us through.  And, full of slight indignation, I said (tasteless I know) "It's a good thing we are not hiding a bomb inside her or something" and for some reason, after that we called her "Infadel".  Most of the time we just shorten it to Dell.  Or Della.  Or Delly.  Or Delly Belly.  Or Smelly Delly.

    (To the tune of macarena)

I know a dog and her name is Smelly Delly
She eats lots of food and she stores it in her belly
Then she does a belch and goes to watch the telly
Hey smelly delly - Ahh AYE!

Yes I know we are sad, daft and pathetic.  Carry on.

     Hahaha Chuffy, that's GREAT!

Benedict is just a character in a book I enjoyed.  It has been shortened to Ben basically since the moment I named him.   He also gets called Ben-Ben, Bib and several variations of Bib (courtesy of Lani), Big Ben, Benson, Ben-Brat and countless others.

Daisy got her name because when I was younger I had a friend named Daisy and we didn't know what to name her and I said how about Daisy so everyone liked it. Princess' name is because I always wanted a dog named Princess, Lucky my sister named her from I believe a danielle steel movie it was on tv it was called Lucky and she said if she ever got a dog she would name it Lucky, Copper my brother named him don't know where he got it from.

None of my dog's names were very creative, but I'll go ahead and tell my stories anyway.

Dexter -- I named my "first dog" (really the family dog) Dexter.  I was six.  My name inspiration came from a doorknob.  (Could have been worse).  Wink

Gypsy -- I was 13.  I couldn't think of a good name on my own, so I looked through a baby name book.  I finally settled on Gypsy.  I'm happy with it, I think it suits her.

Beau -- He was named after a song.  "Mr. Bojangles" by Jerry Jeff Walker.  I just thought it was kind of cute, plus I sort of have a music theme going with my more recent pets.  :-)
