My hopes were to be able to take off for the beach with Ari swimming, but I'm starting to think NH is not friendly about dogs on their beaches at all!
Tourists complain about dogs on the beaches, so it's less to do with residents than it is about appealing to visitors. I used to take Gracie to North Beach in Hampton, but ONLY after 6pm in the summer. During the winter, when no tourists are around, there were plenty of dogs on the beach - especially just north of North Beach - the locals call it Dog Beach because everyone brings their dogs there all throughout the day.
Rivers are easier to allow dogs- there's great camping along the Kangamagus which runs along the East branch of the Pemigewasset. Go up Rt95, get off in Lincoln/North Woodstock, head East and about 2 miles outside of Lincoln is where the campgrounds start. Tell me this isn't beautiful - http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c3/PemigewassetRiverNH.jpg
