I'm glad that Wyatt is doing better!
I suggest that you keep both both Benadryl tablets and liquid (with syringe) on hand - along with written dosage info. The liquid acts faster and is easier to swallow. Tablets don't have a sweetner and just aren't as messy when the dog isn't cooperating.
The normal dosage for Benadryl is 1-2mg/lb of body weight 2-4 times/day, but you can go up to 3mg if the airways are closing.
CAUTION: It is not in the product currently, but always check the ingredients for Xylitol before buying a new bottle of Benadryl. Xylitol is a sweetner that can kill a dog. It drops their blood sugar and damages the liver.
Xylitol is a common ingredient in "sugar-free" products - mints, gum, toothpaste, mouthwash, cookies, cupcakes, etc., etc.
