Earth seems upset lately

That's one of the first things I thought of when I heard the news this morning. They've invested tons of money getting ready for this and the loss of revenue alone would probably be devastating.

I was thinking about this as well. Cyclones, earthquakes(do not forget the Midwest had one, a good size one, less than 30 days ago), tons of rain, tornado's. It really does seem like the earth is upset.

I've been wanting to get an emergency kit together for our family for some time now.  Water purifying drops, basic camping goods, seeds for planting and various canned goods, and a weather radio.  But where do you stop?  Do you make it portable and hope you have enough?  Or do you stockpile in your basement?  I'm definitely one who has thought long and hard about crashing civilization, etc.
