    Mindless Chatter - Sat

*yawn* Neiko didn't agree with sleeping in this morning. So I got up to feed all the animals then put them outside. Hopefully I can get another hours sleep or so. Although, it seems that all of the neighbors are starting their yard work early. My neighbor was blowing leaves at 7am this morning! (I could have killed him)

I'm taking the dogs for another herding lesson today. This will be Lily's last one probably. We'll see how she does.

Other than that I just hope to get a few things done outside before the rain sets in. No exciting plans for me this weekend.

I hate drinking, I say this everytime I do but I hate feeling like crap the next time and I have to work today. I'm sure I'll end up doing it all over again tonight anyway...

It's been gorgeous out here but unfortunately we are due for some rain soon... :(

I'm just thankful Teddi and Maggie slept in until 830 this morning compared to their usual 630-7 wake up call.

Today is my first Saturday off in over a month. Normally, I would like to practice my "sitting down and doing nothing" skills but I have several things to do and it is going to be a nice day out with highs approaching 80 F, with pretty much no humidity. Walking Shadow, of course. Wash the car. Do the carpets. Thinking about smoking some meat with the new side fire box on my grill. I smoked a brisket last Sunday. Muy excellente.

Actually, there is always a "honey, do" list, I just pick the most important ones first. The disconnect for the a/c is ancient and I really need to replace it. A day, such as today, with moderate temps, is perfect for that.

more rambling from me (I didn't get to go back to bed)

I hung the bird feeder right outside of the cat's window. I had put a cat perch on his window a few months ago and he never really cared about it. Well ever since I hung the bird feeder outside that window, the cat only leaves that perch to eat and to potty. He doesn't even want to come sleep with me anymore. It's like kitty MTV! He loves it. I've very happy about that.

I'm also very happy about how Innova Evo is going over with the dogs. I'm going to switch Lily to Wellness Core though because it has fewer calories. She's not losing any weight on Evo. I have a feeling though that I'll be back to EVO with her, just maybe the reduced fat version.

I also found a ticklish spot on Lily. It's so funny. She carries things in her mouth constantly and gets all wiggly showing me her prize. Well if I tickle her just under her belly by her rear legs, she does all this funny grunting/laughing stuff with the toy in her mouth. It's hilarious.

Yay my new cell phone just got here....love new toys

I loooove Wellness Core - Ocean Blue. Pirate's done great on it. It's a little pricey tho, especially if you're feeding a bigger dog. Pirate only eats 1/2 c. a day :)

My brother is checking my tire pressure, yay! I love having a brother, now that we're older. Except all those years my sister and I spent picking on him are coming back to haunt us now that he's bigger and stronger. I'm 5'2'' and he's 6'1'' 8) Everyone always thinks I'm younger.

I think I'm going to bake this flu out at the beach. BF came home from poker around 2am and said I was crying for him :( he gave me some Nyquil and I apparently went back to sleep - I don't remember any of it.

Good thing we got up on time!  The landlords showed up at 10:30 to finish raking and mulching our yard.  I love renting!

I figured out what's wrong with my vacuum.  The bad news is there's no way I can fix it, but the good news is a replacement part is only $13.  I will give it away and have someone order the part.

There is something strange wrong w/ Kenya and I have no clue what it is....I'll take some pics...

TOday is a goooorgeous day!  So far BF and I went to breakfast and surprised my friend who lives so far away now but works every saturday in brampton (30 minutes form me) at work, and then went to a quick lunch with her :D  I FINALLY found a grocery store that sells stouffers beef meat pies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I bought 16 boxes hehe.

Took the dogs to the dog park last night, they loved it, the night before at the dog park a dog was going around humping other dogs, the owners did nothing.  Maddie bared her teeth and snapped at him, good girl!

I am wearing shorts and flip flops today :D

But up the street (literally about 5 houses away from me) on the road a cat was hit by a car.  It is long since dead on the road, I don't know what to do.  I feel so bad for the people who own the cat, but I don't want to go out and pick it up.  Any suggestions?

I feel like a rock star this week, in the Grey's Anatomy way of using it.

Tuesday, while I was being observed, the comment made about me included something about paying a lot of money for someone as good as I am. It was in a figurative sense, because neither of the people watching me control my pay at all. I'm contracted at a set rate that hasn't changed in the over 2.5 years I've had the contract with the school district.

Last week, another parent told me that if I am staying for the next year, I should send him a letter letting him know that I am raising my rate. Umm.. ok. I would have never done it if not told to, but I won't say no if he tells me to. Today he told me to raise the rate by 25%. He also told me some awesomely nice things, and had me about ready to cry.

Third, I volunteer at a group on Thursdays, and have said I wasn't going to apply for a job at the company where it is held. I decided I would though, because the other week, a parent asked me specifically to do it to work with her daughter. I had to get letters of recommendation for it, and got a letter that was way more beautiful than I could have ever asked for. I also got called back about the job about 2 hours after I interviewed.

Right now though, Max is barking his brains out at a cat that has taken up residence on our back porch. I thought I was gonna let him bark until he exhausted himself, but seeing as that may be a while, I think I'm going to have to step in and stop him soon.

Crazy Lady Strikes Again!  The lady from next door called me a few minutes ago, well maybe a half hour, screaming at me to bring my dogs in cause they were barking like crazy.  First off, Crusher doesn't bark.  Secondly, if she had opened her freakin curtain and looked, she would have noticed the two guys fighting right in front of my house, while Tyler had Kali out there.  Ya, not to upset about Onyx barking in that situation.  So, I told her I would bring them in in a bit and she started spouting about some town bylaw yada yada and said she would be right over to shove it in my face.  At that point Tyler was bringing Kali inside to me and I told him to go get the dogs, that the lady next door was on her way over.  So he did, Onyx having already settled down by this point.  He got the dogs and came with them to the door at which point Crazy Lady comes around the corner of my house still screaming about being gone on vacation and coming back sick or something or other and trying to take a nap.  Tyler's standing there with both dogs on leashes and I'm on the porch with Kali in my arms.  Both dogs just stood around like nothing was going on while this woman is ranting about me having 2 big mean barking dogs and the town bylaw says its illegal for dogs to bark in town.  I think she finally realized what an idiot she was being and left.  I mean, gosh!  If she had been right and my dogs were mean, they would have tore her to pieces out there.  As it was, I couldn't have asked for better behaviour from either of them.

Tyler went back a minute later to get the paper from her.  It was a piece of plain paper, printed from it looks like WP and it says Nobody Shall Have Any Dog That Barks Or Howls Or Makes Any Other Noise That Might Bother The Neighbors.  Exactly like that.  Ya, sounds official.  We have the City Bylaws bookmarked on the computer right now because I'm putting up my fence and didn't want anyone coming and telling me I did it wrong and had to take it down.  Anyway, the barking bylaw says basically that no dog shall be allowed to bark incessantly.  And noise violation doesn't start til 11 pm.

    Blaargh!!!!!!

In lighter news... Tyler has his buddies over right now and they are playing Rock Band...they are funny...especially when they try and sing...
