DW sang me a happy birthday song on my voicemail. FIL called later and sang me happy birthday. It's a family tradition and the tune does not follow the standard tune. They make up the melody on the spot. And yes, they sing on key. My meal came with fresh peach cobbler. DW got me some more pretty smelling water (cologne). Vera Wang for Men, which actually works pretty well on me. That, or anything is better than the stinking beast I am. Yesterday at work was successful. I didn't tell anyone it was my birthday as I didn't want to jinx myself or draw attention away from the task at hand. It was one of those "win or go home" days. Three sections of switchgear (main electrical distribution). Each 7.5 feet tall, not including shipping wood. Each weighing between 1,200 and 2,000 lbs. And the doorway to the main electric room is 7 feet tall. So, we had to lay them down outside on a long pallet then use a skytrac, which is like a huge dune buggy with a telescoping arm and adjustable forks, to bring it most of the way into the door way, which is not wide enough to accomodate the forklift frame. Then, use my 2,000 lb chain hoist to lift it upright into the room. Then move a 3 inch rigid pipe around in the iron bar joists and use the hoist to partially suspend and ease it along the floor. And then get it up onto a 4 inch high concrete pad above the floor (housekeeping pad) and then up and over the pipes and then set it down and line it up with each other, as the sections have to bolt together and the bus bar jumpers have to line up. And we did it in a ten hour day without dropping anything or damaging anything. This job is on a tight deadline and there is absolutely no room for error. Two branch breakers equals the price of a car, literally. Needless to say, yesterday rocked. As well as having a birthday. And I only make it sound easy. A ten foot stick of 3 inch rigid pipe weighs between 70 and 80 lbs. And I had to cut it in half and use a coupling to get it into the iron bar joists.
Anyway, I digress, yesterday was a good day.
