Alright, so how do I arrange the "big meeting"?

Alright, so how do I arrange the "big meeting"?

Here's the deal - the rescue is about 2.5 hours from my house.  By the time I get there, pick up Cole, sign whatever paperwork is necessary, (and of course love on him and play for a bit) and get home it will be WAAAY too long for Lenny to be stuck in the house.  I was going to bring him with me, but I don't know if that's a good idea or logistical nightmare.

    Good points
    Lenny gets a ride
the boys meet on neutral territory
Cole isn't totally traumatized by a long drive alone from the litter

    Issues:
    Puppy freakout
    Lenny freakout
various screaming and whining on the way home

I need advice and ideas!  I have a crate for transport that fits Lenny and possibly Cole together, and I have a seatbelt/towel for Lenny if they can't ride together.  Eek!  Help!

You could always have someone with a spotted hound puppysit Lenny for 5 hours, and then have Lenny and Cole meet on neutral territory in that person's front yard.  [;)]  You know, if none of the other options work out. [:D]

Look below... I think I see a spotted hound.

I think it might be a good idea to have Lenny go over to play at a certain Spotted Hound's house. I think taking him with you could turn out either way, really good or really bad. However, leaving him to be photographed by the mom of the afforementioned Spotted Hound is definitely a good idea.

Aw, you would do that?  You are so cool!  [sm=proud.gif]

I may have to take you up on that offer... I'm still trying to figure out what to do.

Lenny photos? The decision has been made. [:)]

Yeah, if Jen takes them they will actually be good Lenny photos!

Plus the exclusive first look at Cole...

I was serious about taking him, but the new snag is that I got a subbing call for Thursday. [:'(]  I'm done by 2, and my husband has a one-hour lunch break that he can take from 12-1, so depending on when you were planning on leaving, we could work it that you dropped Lenny off and we crated him (we have an extra crate, but it's Roscoe-sized) for no more than an hour.

So, if you're interested e-mail/pm me and we can work something out.

Lenny pictures in exchange for a Cole first-look exclusive is a bargain! [:D]

I PM'ed you!  If the timing is a little off I can email the rescue and tell them I will be by a little later than I originally planned.  And Lenny is used to being in a crate for a few hours if need be - he naps with a stuffie.  :)
