Reasons for having a dog...

Its nice to finally find somebody else that knows I'm the most important person in the world.

I got tired of watching my own weight, now I watch theirs.

How else am I supposed to know if I drip food down beside my stove?

And the number one reason for owning a dog?....

I'd feel awful silly belonging to this forum for this long if I didn't!

    Companionship.

Sometimes, a dog provides security, even if they aren't a trained guard dog. Imagine a timberwolf-looking dog with glow-in-the-dark amber eyes and a growl so low and deep it rumbles your guts. Those who don't belong here might think twice.

Joy in the life of another being. Learning about yourself as you learn about them.

Having a nordic dog gives you a reason to get out in the cold weather and face the wind. Yummy ...

The walks help keep you in shape, too.

    All of the above +

If you and your spouse are on the outs and you are not talking to each other you still have a friend in the house to talk to.

If your spouse works out of state and is gone for a time you still have a loving companion at home with you + may help to keep you safe as in watch or guard dog.

If you have no children or they have left the nest you still have someone to bake goodies for - homemade doggie treats. Not talking to spouse right now so he doesn`t count here.

When you are sick or don`t feel very good nothing is better (except not being sick to start with) then having your pup know this and curl up with you to make you feel better.

Doggie kisses are the best of the best.
