Oh, Emily!  You soooo get her more reflective side - like she's thinking or looking at something with interest.  The VERY first thing I noticed was the detail in her shirt and how you managed the shadow on her face - you did such a great job!!  I cannot wait to see a picture of your display at Weim Nationals.  You will be SUCH a hit there!!!!!!!!

You did a fantastic job capturing her!! Gorgeous artwork, and more importantly, gorgeous baby!!

Oh my . . . . your creative talents are unbelievable.  What a beautiful piece, and one to be treasured for generations, I'm sure!  I can't even begin to fathom having abilities such as yours.  Really, really gorgeous.  Did you use one photograph or several, or did you try to capture a particular "live" moment?  Not that she'd sit still that long!! Stick out tongue

That is a gorgeous painting!  A family heirloom?  One day, a grandma will be telling her granddaughter: "That's a painting of MY grandma when she was a baby and it was painted by her mum.  Wasn't she a beautiful baby??!"

Thanks so much tracy. I usually work from one photo, but if I do not know the subject personally I tend to use a few photos so I have a complete understanding of them. But since I look at Meri everyday, one picture sufficed. Here's the reference I used:

Chuffy, thanks so much. I certainly hope that the painting lasts for many generations. I'm going to the framers today to get it done professionally(yesterday we got 10 inches of snow, so no chance I was going to take it out in that!!!!). I'll take a picture when its all framed!
