I don't feel bad for her. I feel bad for her poor dogs. I think she lets them breed because she's irresponsible.
I usually save my pity for the human race, after all, regardless of our opinions of her, Paris deserves to be treated like a human being with dignity. Her dogs are in no way abused - yeah, I think she's a bit "dim" as someone else mentioned, but not stupid. Often times, the stupidity is an act, it gets her attention, even if it's the wrong sort. Truly and honestly, this woman has my heartfelt sympathy. She grew up in a world where she was allowed to do whatever Paris wanted, was not taught right from wrong, was not given boundaries, inhibitions or morals. There were never any consequences to her behavior. That's not something she can turn off like a switch just because she's had opportunites and education. There are irresponsible people, those who really just don't care, but I don't think she's allowing the dogs to breed out of control because she is calloused - it's lack of education and quite a bit of turmoil on the inside. Was a psychology major in college, and still try to keep up to date with the latest findings, and it's a pattern of chaos in one's mind that attracts them to make their exterior life chaotic. It also ties in with the hoarder mentality, and I certainly have no harsh feelings for true hoarders, even though their dogs may be poorly kept or seriously neglected. I believe that the problem with someone like Paris is that moreso than an education, someone should step up and help her take responsibility as an adult & guide her in the right direction. There is no way a person in their right mind, who has their life in order, not suffering from depression in any form, would allow 17 dogs to continue to breed out of control when she could spay them all with her pocket change. It's going to esculate out of control, to the point where someone is going to have to step in, and force her to abide by some boundaries. But I honestly think that is what she's aiming for.
