Are those Pedigree commercials killing anyone else?

Yes, those commercials get to me every time.  After a several, I have had more than I can take and have to leave the room while they are on.  This thread is about to get to me, also.

Sorry for the hijack, but I hope that people who are affected by these commercials will also remember those feelings when considering spay/neuter legislation and when considering when or if to alter their animals.  Even dogs from the most responsible of breeders end up dumped at shelters.  I have one sleeping on the couch next to me as we speak.  The breeder might have taken him back if the owner had given him that choice, but they chose instead to make things easy on themselves and drop him at the local pound.  He was one of the lucky ones, but day in and day out, cute dogs and ugly dogs, young pups and old foggies like the ones in those commercials are put to death for no other reason than because there are not enough homes for all of them.

Sorry, just had to get that off my chest.  Thanks for understanding.  Embarrassed

Oh yeah, the Echo one gets me. He looks a little bit like my sister's dog, who came from the SPCA, and sat in a cage for 7 months before my sister got him, sooo you can imagine how close to home that hits. My sister called me one night, clearly she was a bit choked up, and she just says "Oh my god.. have you seen that Ped-" And I knew what she was talking about. She and her husband had just seen it, and not only was SHE teary, but her husband, who I only know of crying ONCE (when their son was born!), was choked up too.

    Oh, they're good.

We've been seeing the one with the collie mix, Echo. The dog is so attentive and sweet. And she has the eye for herding. I don't feed Pedigree but she could have a great life, regardless of what she eats, if she just had a home and a loving human to feed her. And I wonder how a perfect dog like her wound up there. The answer, in my mind, is always pinche humans.
